The Traditional 3pm Acca: Blades to boost this 37/1 shot

Can Chris Wilder pull off the great escape?

Friday's Daily Acca landed for Paul Robinson, and his traditional Saturday 3pm Acca is a [37/1] shot that takes advantage of a generous price about Sheffield United.

  • Blades to sharpen up under Wilder

  • United to make it two wins in a week

  • Canaries to be singing

Leg 1 Sheffield United (90mins) @ 3/14.00 (15:00)

Chris Wilder couldn't manufacturer the dream start in his second spell as Blades boss, but that was against Liverpool, and Brentford at home will be a bit easier.

The Bees are without the injured, Bryan Mbeumo, and he has either scored or assisted 11 of their 23 goals this season. With Ivan Toney still banned, the Cameroon international is a huge miss.

The Blades are rock bottom with just five points, but Wilder is proven at the club, and their sole win did at least come at Bramall Lane. Plus, we are getting 3/14.00.

Leg 2 Man United (90mins) @ 4/91.44 (15:00)

I am loathed to include Manchester United at such a short price, but I just can't see them not beating Bournemouth at home.

Erik ten Hag took the decision to drop Marcus Rashford against Chelsea during the week, but it paid off as they beat Chelsea 2-1, with the scoreline flattering the Londoners.

It was United's third win out of their last four at Old Trafford in the league, and even though the Cherries are in red-hot form with 10 points from the last 12 available, their away wins came at Bramall Lane and Selhurst Park.

Leg 3 Norwich (90mins) @ 5/61.84 (15:00)

The Canaries are slowly climbing up the table, with David Wagner's men now in 13th place, thanks to a nine point haul from their last four outings.

Preston are heading in the other direction, as they are down to eighth, following three straight defeats - including a sorry 0-2 home loss to QPR last Friday.

Ryan Lowe's side did this last season - fading after a bright start - and Norwich should be able to add another three points to their tally at Carrow Road.

Leg 4 Southampton (90mins) @ 11/102.11 (15:00)

Russell Martin has Southampton firing again, and even though they face a tricky trip to Vicarage Road, I make them a good bet at above evens to take the victory.

The Saints are 11 unbeaten in the Championship - winning eight and drawing three. On the road it's 11 points from their last five games, and they haven't been conceding too many goals.

The hosts have won three of their last four, but the their two latest victories were narrow ones, and prior to that they were beaten by Leicester.

Leg 5 Peterborough (90mins) @ 8/111.73 (15:00)

We finish in League One, where home advantage should make all the difference when Peterborough take on Oxford.

Posh are in fifth place, and 20 of their 35 points have come at the London Stadium, despite having played more away games. They are unbeaten in seven in front of their own fans - winning on five occasions. Their last two matches here saw them thump Cambridge 5-0 and Burton 4-0.

Oxford are two places above them in the table, and looking like serious promotion candidates themselves, but this is one of the hardest places to go to in League One, and they have been beaten three times away from home this term.

Acca Wreckers

Normally I pick out a couple of odds-on shots to avoid, but having perused the weekend fixture list, I see two teams at just above evens that I have to take on.

The first is Middlesbrough at odds of 6/52.20. They have now lost two of their last three, and while both defeats came away from the Riverside, Stoke beat them here at the end of October.

Ipswich are only one point off top spot, and with just two defeats all season, I wouldn't back any Championship club, bar maybe Leicester, to beat them at Boro's price.

Next up is an Acca Wrecker favourite - Chelsea.

The Blues are 11/102.11 to win at Goodison Park on Sunday afteronn, and I just don't see that at all. Everton were excellent in their midweek victory over Newcastle, while Chelsea were putting in a dreadful performance at Old Trafford.

They have now lost their last two away games - 4-1 and 2-1 - and the Toffees have lost just one of their last six.
