Surprise leaders in Group E

AC Milan host the surprise Group E leaders Dinamo Zagreb at the San Siro on Wednesday evening.

Zagreb pulled off the biggest surprise of the opening round of games, when they beat Chelsea 1-0, leading to the sacking of Thomas Tuchel.

The Croatian club needed to come through qualifying to reach the group stage, beating Shkupi, Ludogorets and Bodo/Glimt to book their place.

Milan qualified by winning last season's Serie A and they have made an unbeaten start to the season across all competitions (P7 W4 D3).

They claimed a point in their opening group game, as they came from behind to draw 1-1 at Red Bull Salzburg.

At the weekend they won 2-1 away at Sampdoria, despite being reduced to ten-men early in the second-half when Rafael Leao was sent off.

Milan were not complacent in the summer, after winning their first Serie A title since 2011, adding a number of players to their squad, with the Belgian playmaker Charles De Ketelaere being the most noteworthy addition.

Milan won't repeat Chelsea mistake

AC Milan are the 1.3130/100 favourites, with the draw at 6.05/1 and Dinamo Zagreb at 13.012/1.

Despite Zagreb's impressive first result, we have to expect Milan to win this one. Chelsea dominated possession last week and the result had more to do with their own deficiencies, than Zagreb's strengths.

Milan will surely not be so wasteful, especially at home, where they have scored nine goals in three games this season.
