West Ham came from behind to beat Tottenham and will play Manchester City in the semi-final of the League Cup, while Manchester United were rewarded for their victory over Stoke with a last-four tie against Sunderland. Mike Norman explains...

West Ham were matched at 110.0109/1 in the Match Odds market before coming from behind to beat Tottenham 1-2 at White Hart Lane on Tim Sherwood's managerial debut.

Following Andre Villas-Boas' dismissal on Monday morning Sherwood was put in temporary charge of the north London club, and he looked set for a winning debut when Emmanuel Adebayor - brought in to play alongside Jermain Defoe - opened the scoring midway through the second half.

But goals from Matt Jarvis and Modibo Maiga in the last 10 minutes completed a stunning combeback from Sam Allardyce's men, and it is they who will play a two-legged semi-final tie against Manchester City next month.

Adebayor was matched at 7.26/1 in the First Goalscorer market, while the 1-2 Correct Score hit a high of 90.089/1 In-Play.

Manchester United will face Sunderland in the semi-final after they beat Stoke 0-2 at the Britannia Stadium.

In a game that was temporarily halted due to a first half hail storm, it was United that froze out their oppoents when Ashley Young thundered home a strike from the edge of the box midway through the second half. Patrice Evra wrapped up the victory late in the game.

United were matched at 2.789/5 for the win, while Young was matched at 15.529/2 to score first and the 0-2 Correct Score hit a high of 14.013/1.

Man City are the 1.9620/21 favourites to win this season's Capital One Cup with fierce rivals United next best at 2.77/4. Should both clubs come through their semi-final ties it will set up the first all-Manchester final in the history of the League Cup.
