Royal Challengers Bangalore v Delhi Capitals team news
Crucial wickets for Lockie Fegruson against Punjab should ensure that the Kiwi quick keeps Glenn Maxwell out of the team. Vidwath Kaverappa, a right-arm quick, is subbing in for Rajat Patidar. The 25-year-old has strong numbers but from only 14 games.
Probable XI: Kohli, Du Plessis, Jacks, Green, Patidar/Kaverappa (subs), Lomror, Swapnil, Karn, Ferguson, Siraj
All change at the Capitals. Rishabh Pant is suspended for one game for a slow over rate so Axar Patel is skipper. David Warner is fit again so should replace Shai Hope. Jhye Richardson is also touted as a starter.
Possible XI: Fraser-McGurk, Porel, Warner, Kushagra/Yash (subs), Stubbs, Axar, L Yadav, Kuldeep, Richardson, Mukesh, Khaleel
Royal Challengers Bangalore v Delhi Capitals pitch report
The Chinnaswamy was road-like for Sunrisers' 287. But otherwise the bowlers have been in the mix. Gujarat managed only 147 last time and the other first-innings scores read: 181, 182 and 176.
Strong bowling efforts by RCB in their last two suggest they have found a method but we're unconvinced that Punjab and Gujarat are great yardsticks. More than ten an over is on the cards so overs 207.5 could be close.
Bangalore have won their last four and go off at 1.738/11. With Delhi also showing an uptick in form with three wins in four they are tempting at 2.3411/8.
We've consistently said that RCB are a lay at odds-on and at some stage, perhaps now there is expectation, they should return to the mean. But clearly they weren't as bad as a six-game losing sequence suggested. The truth is between the two.
Royal Challengers Bangalore v Delhi Capitals Exchange strategy
Delhi Capitals, thanks to Jake Fraser-McGurk are explosive in the powerplay. Expect fireworks. Runs lines and par lines are likely to head north if DC bat first, particularly as the data backs up what our eyes witness.
Delhi are third on the list of strike rates on the powerplay while RCB are the third most expensive with the ball.
Virat Kohli is 11/53.20 for another top bat win for RCB. We have been backing Cameron Green at 10s and 11s recently but the cut to 7/18.00 has less appeal. For Delhi, Tristan Stubbs may have to play the Pant role so the 7/18.00 has interest with the potential to bat higher.
