Mumbai Indians v Royal Challengers Bangalore team news
Mumbai are getting closer to picking their best XI. The inclusion of Romario Shepherd and Mohammad Nabi against Delhi for their first win seemed fair. We'd still prefer Vishnu Vinod to Ishan Kishan and MI to find room for Nehal Wadhera.
Probable XI: Rohit, Ishan, Yadav/Madhwal (sub), Hardik, Tilak, David, Shepherd, Nabi, Chawla, Coetzee, Bumrah
Bangalore have played perfectly to the formbook. They are so reliant on Virat Kohli for runs that he's placing too high a price on his wicket. Related to the high Kohli price tag is a dearth of bowling skill. They're a poor team.
The inclusion of young hitter Saurav Chauhan is to be welcomed, though, with a career strike rate of 152.
Probable XI: Kohli, Du Plessis, Maxwell, Green, S Chauhan/Himashu (subs), Patidar, Karthik, Topley, Dagar, Siraj, Dayal
Mumbai Indians v Royal Challengers Bangalore pitch report
The Wankhede is one for the batters. More than 200 has been busted in the first-innings in five of the last seven. Mumbai flayed Delhi's bowlers last time out.
With both teams leaky with the ballm both sides for 200 is a good start with Sportsbook at 9/25.50 ,although both for 180 at 23/103.30 keeps a Kohli go-slow on side.
Mumbai are 1.738/11 for a second win of the season. Bangalore are 2.3211/8 and with four defeats in five they are already approaching must-win territory.
We're not hugely enamoured with those odds on Mumbai given the calamities against Gujarat and Sunrisers.
Indeed, there is a big chunk of evidence that says both sides are dreadful with the ball in terms of economy. It's probably one to swerve, although do look out for hapless fielding from RCB as a pointer as to when they feel pressure.
Mumbai Indians v Royal Challengers Bangalore Exchange strategy
An Exchange strategy could be the way to play. By filtering death over runs there might be an angle on Bangalore's runs.
With a collective strike rate of 184 they are the fourth-best at hitting in the last four. Pair this with Mumbai's record as third-worst for economy and taking big numbers on first-innings runs may make sense at the death.
Suryakumar Yadav is a fantastic bet at 4/15.00 for top Mumbai bat. He wins 33 the time and has three fifties against RCB in his last six.
Kohli is boosted to 23/103.30 but there's a smidge of value on win rate for Cameron Green to do something against his old team. He is 5/16.00.
