Delhi Capitals v Sunrisers Hyderabad team news
David Warner looks likely to return from a finger inury. He was supposedly 90% fit for the win over Gujarat but missed out as a precaution. If Warner returns, Jake Fraser-McGurk will bat at No 3. Abhishek Porel and Khaleel Ahmed are the probable impact players.
Possible XI: Warner, Shaw, Fraser-McGurk, Porel/Khaleel (subs), Pant, Stubbs, Axar, Sumit, Kuldeep, Ishant, Mukesh
Sunrisers' Travis Head has been subbed in or out for Mayank Markande, who will be increasingly important as the pitches get more worn.
Possible XI: Head/Markande (subs), Abhishek, Markram, Klaasen, Samad, Reddy, Shahbaz, Cummins, Kumar, Unadkat, Natarajan
Delhi Capitals v Sunrisers Hyderabad pitch report
Six of the last 12 IPL matches (including one T20I) saw 175.5 runs busted in the first dig. Four of those were 200 or more. There is a toss bias from those matches with eight won by the chaser. The par line is overs 187.5. The track should be at its flattest but Delhi coach Ricky Ponting said there is some grass on it.
Delhi have won impressively in their last two, hammering Gujarat and outsmarting Lucknow. They may represent value at 2.166/5 but that's because of what Sunrisers aren't rather than what Delhi are.
Sunrisers are flattering to deceive. They are one-trick ponies who can smash with the bat but in the field, particularly under pressure, they are hugely vulnerable. Delhi just need to stay in the game.
Where Sunrisers are dangerous is at the death. They have the highest strike rate in that period in the tournament.
The bad news for Delhi is that they have the second-worst economy. How can we make that pay? Add 60 and 70 runs to the innings runs if Sunrisers bat first.
Abhishek Sharma is a spot of value for top Sunrisers bat at Sportsbook's 10/34.33. His win rate in the last three tournaments (including this one) is 29%. He managed a half-century against Delhi last term and has solid form, albeit over four games, at this venue.
For Delhi, Warner may be due to return to form. He is remarkably consistent with a win rate in the 40s. The 11/43.75 is not too shabby.
