Eoin Morgan is a professional cricket player who was born in Ireland in 1986 but plays international cricket for England.

The Irishman is a left-handed batsman who can keep wicket if required. He has done so for England in one-day cricket where he usually comes into the middle of the batting order.
Morgan started his career with Ireland in 2003 and he played for them until 2008. He featured in 23 limited overs matches for his home nation, scoring 744 runs, including one century and five half-centuries.
In 2006, the left-handed cricketer signed for Middlesex where he still plays domestic cricket. His maiden first-class century with the county came on July 5, 2008 at Uxbridge against South Africa. The national team were touring England that summer and played a warm-up game in Greater London. Morgan managed the feat in 250 deliveries and was able to hit three sixes off the bowling of Paul Harris.
The man from Ireland was part of Middlesex's success in the Twenty20 Cup in 2008 when they beat Kent in the final at the Rose bowl.
He has since made himself a specialist in the game and has featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since 2010. He was purchased by RC Banglkaore in his first season in the India based competition. Then, in 2011, he signed for Kolkata Knight Riders where he currently features in the league.
At the age of 22, Morgan was named as captain in a County Championship game against Kent. He replaced the injured regular skipper Shaun Udal.
The young cricketer also got a taste of captaincy for England when he was asked to lead a twenty20 side against Ireland in 2010. He also did so in 2012 when Stuart Broad was unavailable to play.
The middle-order batsman made his Test debut for England on May 27, 2010 against Bangladesh. Later that summer he scored his maiden century in the international format of the game against Pakistan and made 130 at Trent Bridge against the visitors.
His form with the bat with the Three Lions continued in August 2011, as Morgan scored an unbeaten 123 when England came up against India at Edgbaston.
In 2013 the Middlesex man signed up to take part in the Big Bash League for Sydney Thunders. He is one of four overseas players in their squad which includes Australian captain Michael Clarke.
