Australia v England World Cup team news
Australia have been dealt two significant blows with the loss of Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell. Marsh has gone home for a family issue and Maxwell has concussion after a freak golf accident. It upsets their balance just when they were beginning to motor. Cameron Green and Marcus Stoinis, who faces a fitness test, may come in.
Possible XI: Warner, Head, Smith, Labuschagne, Inglis, Green, Stoinis, Cummins, Starc, Zampa, Hazlewood
England are playing for pride and Champions Trophy qualification. It's a guessing game as to how they line-up. Harry Brook should come in instead of Ben Stokes, who looks in dreadful touch. They may find room for one of Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse.
Possible XI: Bairstow, Malan, Root, Stokes/Brook, Buttler, Livingstone, Moeen Willey, Woakes, Rashid, Wood
Australia v England World Cup pitch report
Ahmedabad was where it all started to go wrong for England, losing by nine wickets after posting 282 versus the Kiwis. Pakistan were all going well at one stage against India before collapsing. It's a decent batting wicket, then. Both sides for 275 may be a gimme with the bowling units hardly mean and miserly. Both for 300 is priced at 13/53.60.
Australia v England World Cup match odds
England need some help to find inspiration in this World Cup. Could it be that a weakened old enemy provide it?
This should be a World Cup classic but unfortunately the defending champions form has collapsed and it's a key game only for the Aussies.
Perhaps a sense of freedom makes England value at 2.3811/8. Had this been the first game of the tournament England would have been odds-on favourites. The gulf in odds seems only justified if Australia were at full-strength.
Australia v England World Cup player bets
David Warner has a 32% return rate so the boosted 7/24.50 with Sportsbook will likely prove popular. For England Joe Root is boosted to the same but there's no return rate value. Adam Zampa is 3/14.00 for top Australia bowler and he returns close to 60% of the time. The double that Warner and Zampa win is 12/113.00.
