New Zealand v Canada
Tuesday, 05:30
TV: live on Sky Sports
New Zealand were outclassed by South Africa in Ahmedabad last time out to clip aspirations that they can be title challengers. They could be on a collision course to meet them again in the semi-final. Wising up against the pace of Marco Jansen will be a good start but Canada are unlikely to offer a replica test.
The Kiwis are reliable and efficient and they are one of a handful of teams who one might struggle to make a case for to be upset by an Associate. So often they just get the job done with minimum fuss. It doesn't even enter the mind space that the Kiwis could be in any danger of not qualifying for the Super Eights. However, we do need to mention that an extremely heavy defeat here and then an extremely heavy defeat for Canada against Afghniastan could put them in jeopardy on net run rate. But it's mathematical miracle stuff.
The market focus is on players. Finn Allen is seeing it well and hoves into view for a top-bat win at 3/14.00. He has the advantage of batting in the powerplay and the opportunity for the full length of an innings. It cannot be ruled out that a low total batting second means 30-40 wins the market. A less stressful wager is Allen to go over his runs line at 26.5. This could win very quickly indeed. He strikes at 165 and he is unlikely to be standing on ceremony against the Canada attack. If it's off, it will be out.

Ireland v Zimbabwe

A win for Zimbabwe will put them in the box seat for qualification for the Super Eight, regardless of what Australia managed in Pallekele against Sri Lanka on Monday. They had a superior net run rate to the Aussies by a significant chunk and two points here could seal the deal.
Perhaps the good news for Zimbabwe is that they have not been overly-reliant on Sikandar Raza. In the past, it has been an accusation that Raza has carried the bulk of the workload. But Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava and Brad Evans are all producing good performances.
Ngarava, the recently named Test and ODI captain, missed the win over Australia with Zimbabwe preferring an extra spinner in Graeme Cremer. Cremer is expected to make way, however, as Pallekele may not be as spin-friendly as the RPS.
Despite Ngarava returning, Evans remains the outstanding bowler. He has a win rate close to even money in T20i since the end of the last World Cup. He hasn't had a win yet despite six wickets in two games, missing out on runs conceded and by one wicket respectively. Sportsbook offer 7/24.50 and that should be taken.
For Ireland, Harry Tector looks their best batter (and on returns, too). We had a loss on overs on his runs against Oman which was a sore one because they posted 235. But we won't lose faith. Tector has been a thorn in the side of Zimbabwe in the past and an interest in the 7/24.50 that he top scores is worth it. He should be jolly.

Scotland v Nepal

Given the preparation Scotland had for this tournament (or lack of it) they have been one of the success stories. The Scots had days rather than weeks to get ready for the World Cup after Bangladesh pulled out and their performances have been a credit to their organisation and courage.
Coaches were in different parts of the world, players had to cancel commitments and they didn't even have a kit but they have been solid in each of the three matches. West Indies and England both had nervous moments while they hammered an Italian side who have also emerged with credit.
They should be capable of topping off their campaign with a win over Nepal. Although excellent against England it seemed that was their ceiling and they have struggled since, losing by ten wickets to Italy and nine to West Indies.
A trend we are waiting to cop is Brandon McMullen for top Scotland bat. He came into the tournament with a solid record and has looked in decent hitting touch. Our timing could be spot on and the 7/24.50 with Sportsbook has appeal.
