Mike is Betfair's resident politics expert and has a particular interest in the US and UK politics betting markets. His passion for sport, however, goes further - he has always been a fervent football fan and has been a regular at Reading since the mid-1990s. More recently he can be seen at Adams Park watching Wasps and enjoys frequent trips back to his homeland, Scotland, to see his nation be on the wrong end of good beatings more often than not at Murrayfield.
Two spells in North America have resulted in baseball and ice hockey being interests of his, with time in St. Louis watching the Cards win the World Series and in Vancouver watching the Canucks, two great cities and two great teams.
Mike's bet of all time was a £2 ante-post punt on Kicking King for the 2005 Cheltenham Gold Cup at the horrifically short price of 480/1. That bet aside, however, and horse racing isn’t really his thing.
