In the past week the Grand Series of Poker (GSOP) has gone from strength to strength with six of the last eight events smashing their guarantees to pieces. Even better than that is the performance of the players on Betfair Poker in this series so far, performances that have quite frankly been amazing.

Over the past eight events Betfair Poker players have managed to cash 80 times for prize money totalling $90,978.14 meaning that over the first 12 GSOP events players on Betfair Poker have cashed on 138 ocassions and won a staggering $213,971.42!

Event #5 saw 856 players take to the virtual felt for the $50+$4 $100,000 guaranteed short-handed no-limit Hold'em event with unlimited rebuys. Over the course of the night there were 15 Betfair Poker players who made it to the money with special mentions going to Cigar71 who reached the final two tables before busting in 10th place for $1,498.89 and also mauriz196 who burst the final table bubble by finishing in sixth place for a cool $3,889.02.

Betfair players won two of the first four events and thanks to CacO BG they have now one three of the opening six! Event #6 was the $190+$10 Pot-limit Omaha event that smashed its $50,000 guarantee by over $18,000, which incidentally is how much CacO BG won for taking down the entire tournament, $18,326.98 to be exact. A brilliant result against some of Europe's best Omaha players.

Another Betfair player made a final table and seven more cashed in the $100+$8 no-limit Hold'em event with a $75,000 guarantee. A grand total of $3,711.45 was won by our players with the bulk of it coming from the eighth place finish of Bifta100 who picked up $1,624.47 for his valiant effort.

One of the most eagerly awaited events in this year's GSOP was the $190+$10 No-limit Hold'em deep-stacked event with a $300,000 guarantee, a guarantee that 1,791 entrants broke by $40,290. Sixteen Betfair Poker players reached the money places but three of them went home with scores of over $1,000. Longibro picked up $1,497.94 for his 30th place finish and matrim1x won the same for coming in 25th whilst fergie28's ninth place was worth a bankroll boosting $4,846.96.

I mentioned earlier that Betfair Poker players have won three of the opening six events, what I should have said they have won four of the first nine as drakos1 picked up $22,309.17 for outlasting 726 other players in Event #9, the $50+$4 short-handed no-limit Hold'em rebuy tournament. He was joined in the payout spots by no fewer than 19 other players from Betfair with prizes ranging from $208.62 as won by jaral, who came 97th up to the $1,084.10 won by Slav for finishing 12th.

Our players also cashed a total of 17 times over events 10 through 12 for a total of $11,885.04 the two highlights being the 8th place finish in the $300+$20 fixed limit Hold'em event by mzinho for $1,728.50 and the fifth place finish, worth $3,051.02, of Mulegrynet in Event #12, the $50+$4 short-handed Pot-limit Omaha rebuy.

Here at Betfair Poker we want to congratulate each and every person who has managed to make it to the money in the opening 12 GSOP event but extra special mentions have to go to _dp _ who has cashed three times including making two final tables and LegatoBF who has cashed a staggering four times so far this series.
