Timeform run the rule over the field for the Melton Mowbray Conditions Stakes...
In Footlights has something to find on the bare form of his maiden win, but
looks a horse of considerable potential and may be worth chancing to thwart his
stable-mate, Prince Siegfried.
Big Bound was a winner over this trip on the all-weather in March and put in respectable efforts in Group/listed company afterwards. He forced too strong a pace last time, but is likely to come up short again.
In Footlights was merely shaken up to draw clear in impressive style when making a winning start in an eight furlong maiden at Newmarket last month. He takes a step up the ladder here, but is a useful prospect who has to be considered.
Libel Law was a clear-cut winner of a ten furlong maiden at Windsor in April. He was not discredited when having sights raised in a Group 3 last time and remains capable of better.
Prince Siegfried rounded off his two-year-old campaign with a close second in an eight furlong French Group 1. He was slightly disappointing on his return, but the yard is in better form now and he looks the stables first string on jockey bookings.
Rendezvous is a brother to the smart French filly Gagnoa. He won an eight furlong soft-ground maiden at Chantilly in October and was runner-up on his other start. He is an interesting contender for a new stable, but needs to improve.
Misdaqeya was runner-up in a juvenile Group 3 at Newmarket in August, but has been well held in both outings this term and has yet to prove she has trained on.

This looks a good opportunity for Vertigo On Course, a fast-finishing third at Southwell last week. Young Dottie's success last month is working out well and she also makes appeal, while each-way players could do worse than side with Toolentidhaar....

Despite being the senior citizen of the party, Mister Nous retains plenty of ability, and having won five times in France appears ready to open his British account. The Rainbow Hunter could be more deadly now switched to handicaps and looks a big threat to the selection, with Strategic Plan rated third best....

Jim Tango is open to improvement over fences, and this looks to be Miss Pross' easiest task for some time, but the likeable Bamby gets the nod with conditions to suit back over fences....

The two handicap debutants could be the ones to focus on here, with Ambrogina favoured more than Seamster. Knightfire will have to settle for a place again....
