It will be a limited day on the racing front so finding good-priced winners will be difficult. Carl Harris will be doing his best to do just that...

Well, its the height of the British Summer and our one and only flat card has been abandoned due to waterlogging. Saturday's racing remained largely unaffected by the conditions and certainly High Standing proved to be outstanding over the six furlongs and could be stepped up in class once again.

Good bets are few are far between today really, but there are jumps cards at Stratford and Newton Abbot where we can look to nab a couple of winning bets. Tony McCoy had a good day at Market Rasen on Saturday and should kick the day off with a winner aboard Fongoli (2.00) for Brendan Powell at Newton Abbot. This will be a pretty short price but should oblige and nick us a few quid. It may be worth doubling this one up with one at a better price.

The one I really like today is Bathwick Man (2.10) who is looking to land the hat-trick at Stratford for David Pipe. This is a progressive horse over hurdles and won here last time out where he got the better of a decent field quite easily, prevailing by three lengths. There is no penalty for that win because it was in a conditional jockeys' race and off the same mark of 115 today he looks a good thing. Johnny Farrelly is aboard again today and gives backers an added benefit of claiming three pounds.

Short and sweet, primarily because I was off to Redcar, but will now be staying at home and watching the jumpers on TV.
