Carl Harris has three bets this Tuesday

"Racing Hero (16:10) was a very impressive winner of a better handicap at Doncaster with Frankie Dettori back in the saddle here at Yarmouth under a six pound penalty. But, in my view, that will not stop a repeat performance and a quick double for a horse that looks well ahead of the handicap."

There's no sign of jumps racing on Tuesday with two flat cards on turf, at Yarmouth and Catterick and an all-weather meeting at Southwell the offerings. I am taking things easy this week, my daughter is on half-term and the quality of racing is pretty poor. The Flat season is coming to a close with many horses having being on the go for a while, I am waiting for the jumps to get in to full swing.

That said, the all-weather will become a staple diet for punters over the winter which can provide a decent return for those who get it right. I will be backing one at Southwell today and hopefully start as I mean to go on.

Course form is probably more important at Southwell than any other track .Lucky Punt (15:20) has decent form on the Fibresand, which cannot be said of his opponents who have one run between them on the surface. Lucky Punt is a course winner and is in good form, a combination that makes the three-year-old the clear pick to land what, for the prize money, is a moderate looking handicap.

Racing Hero (16:10) was a very impressive winner of a better handicap at Doncaster with Frankie Dettori back in the saddle here at Yarmouth under a six pound penalty. Simple Jim (13:30) is another horse in great form. The five-year-old has won three of his last four starts for James Hetherton. The handicapper has applied a five pound penalty for that win but his shrewd trainer has booked a decent five pound claimer to negate that. However this is a drop in trip and I think Simple Jim wants further than today's trip and as such will find this too quick. A decent lay if the price is right.
