Second day cancelled at Cheltenham - Interview with course Managing Director
Strong winds have led to the cancellation of day two of the Festival
The current stormy weather has led to today's racing being called off at the Cheltenham Festival today as gusting winds make much of the Gloucestershire track and hospitality areas unsafe.
Festival organisers have rearranged the schedule for Thursday and Friday - fitting all of day two's races in.
Edward Gillespie, Managing Director at the course, was interviewed by Betfair. Click the link below to hear what he had to say.
Some markets on the site have been affected and the following service announcement was made in the Betfair forum this morning.
"All today's day of the race markets have been made void in line with Betfair's Rules and Regulations. This includes win, place, match bets, distance markets, name the favourite, reverse forecast, etc. Day Two Jackpot and Day Two Top Jockey will also be made void.
All bets will stand on Cheltenham Antepost markets. If there are any further changes or abandonments we will update accordingly.
The day of the race World Hurdle and Ryanair Chase markets will also stand.
All Cheltenham Festival special markets will also stand and be run in accordance with their market rules."
