Once a hot favourite for the Aston Villa job, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has drifted today after news sources suggest he will be staying in Norway

The rumour mill says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not be taking the vacant managerial role at Aston Villa, but Betfair customers are not giving up on the former Manchester United hero taking the helm at Villa Park.

Backed at a low of 1.21/5 on Betfair's next Aston Villa Manager market, Solskjaer is currently available to back anywhere between 5.04/1 and 6.05/1 at the time of publication in what is a very volatile market.

However, with both Sky Sports and the BBC reporting that he is happy to stay at club Molde, the 39-year-old's odds drifted well into double figures before dropping down to his current level. Confusion reigns.

By default, the new favourite is Norwich City manager Paul Lambert, who can be backed around the 4.57/2 mark. With star striker Grant Holt handing in a transfer request could Lambert be tempted into leaving Carrow Road?

At 9.08/1 Wigan's Roberto Martinez is the only runner in the market who trades in single figures.
