Well then, even by Week One standards in the NFL that was something wasn't it? And as usual we're left trying to figure out if last week was a sign of things to come or just a first week flash in the pan.
Poor old Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets saw his hugely anticipated debut last just four plays - with the only plus being for bettors who backed him in season prop bets, as Betfair are voiding bets on him.
NFL Week 2 schedule
Green Bay Packers (1-0) @ Atlanta Falcons (1-0)
Match Odds: 19/201.95 | 17/201.85
Spreads: Falcons -1.5
Over/Under: 40.5
The Jordan Love era couldn't have started better but this is a tough challenge to slow down the Falcons run game and force Desmond Ridder, who hasn't thrown a pick in his five starts so far, into mistakes.
Aaron Jones' injury needs an eye keeping out on but as long as he can go in some capacity I think Green Bay have enough both wit Love's arm and in an underrated defence to go 2-0.
Seattle Seahawks (0-1) @ Detroit Lions (1-0)
Match Odds: 7/42.75 | 9/201.45
Spread: Lions -4.5
O/U: 47.5
Detroit have had an extra rest after that incredible win over the Chiefs but the Seahawks will come in hot after an embarrasing home beatdown by the Rams - so the Lions have to avoid a comedown defeat.
Incredibly, Seattle have won the last two meetings 48-45 and 51-29 but Dan Campbell's new Lions don't look a side ripe for a beating, and with the Seahawks hurting at tackle Aidan Hutchinson could cause havoc.
Prop Bet: Jahmyr Gibbs TD & Lions won @ 21/103.10 - Detroit just had a look at the rookie at the Chiefs but he looked sharp & will get a larger role at home.
New York Jets (1-0) @ Dallas Cowboys (1-0)
Match Odds: 3/14.00 | 1/41.25
Spread: Cowboys -9.5
O/U: 38.5
The poor old Jets wouldn't be 3/14.00 with Aaron Rodgers, as Zach Wilson has to face a fearsome defencr that ransacked the Giants in a 40-0 hammering last week. Good luck!
There is hope as the Jets have a defence of their own that can limit Dak Prescott, but this is all about visiting offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett drawing up a gameplan to help Wilson out.
They'll run it - A LOT - with Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook with quick, short passes only. If Wilson can just not give the ball away then they have a fighting chance, but it looks tough.
Prop bet: Micah Parsons 1+ sack & Cowboys win @ 13/102.30 - Dallas has seven sacks last week, Parsons has one and caused all kinds of problems, plus Wilson held the ball longer than any other QB last week.
KC Chiefs (0-1) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0)
Match Odds: 4/71.57 | 29/202.45
Spread: Chiefs -3.5
O/U: 51.5
Only four Super Bowl champs have started 0-2 the next season, but the Chiefs have Chris Jones and Travis Kelce back to face the dangerous Jags - who pushed them all the way in the playoffs last season.
They'll have to cut out the sloppy mistakes that blighted their opener, with Patrick Mahomes seeing eight of his passes dropped for the first time in his career.
In Calvin Ridley, Trevor Lawrence has a genuine top tier receiver that could help keep pace with the Chiefs - but Mahomes is 11-1 after 10 days rest and Andy Reid has surely ironed out their opening-day flaws.
Baltimore Ravens (1-0) @ Cincinnati Bengals (0-1)
Match Odds: 11/82.38 | 8/131.61
Spread: Bengals -3
O/U: 46.5
Joe Burrow followed bagging a record contract by recording a record low yardage total for him and now Cincy are looking down the barrel of another 0-2 start.
The Ravens have injury issues yet again so Lamar Jackson, who averages 83 rushing yards v the Bengals will be off to the races again, but Burrow surely won't lay another egg - so take the hosts.
San Francisco 49s (1-0) @ Los Angeles Rams (1-0)
Match Odds: 1/31.33| 12/53.40
Spread: Niners -7
O/U: 44.5
San Francisco were perhaps the most impressive team in week one, and the Rams the most surprising as they beat-up the Seahawks in Seattle - but they've lost eight straight regular season games to the Niners.
Nick Bosa and crew will be all over Matthew Stafford so despite L.A being able to make this close they won't have enough to stop the early-season juggernaut.
Las Vegas Raiders (1-0) @ Buffalo Bills (0-1)
Match Odds: 29/103.90 | 2/71.29
Spread: Bills -8.5
O/U: 47
Who'd have though Mahomes, Burrow AND Josh Allen would all lose their first games eh? And what's worse is that Allen's four turnovers contributed to losing to the Rodgers-less Jets.
Allen needs to not try too hard, but with the Raiders not a team that gets a lot of turnovers and having some issues with receivers, if the Bills can keep Josh Jacobs in check they'll hit back with a win.
New York Giants (0-1) @ Arizona Cardinals (0-1)
Match Odds: 9/201.45 | 9/52.80
Spread: Giants -4.5
O/U: 39.5
Arizona look one of the best sides for the Giants to try and restore pride after being embarrased - as both sides look for their first TD of the season. The G-Men will look to run it against this Cards D - so Saquon Barkley will score as they get back on track.
Thursday
Minnesota Vikings (0-1) @ Philadelphia Eagles (1-0)
Match Odds: 21/103.10 | 2/51.40
Spread: Eagles -6.5
Over/Under: 49.5
The Eagles weren't too convincing against the Patriots but then again Minnesota lost at home to Tampa Bay - with Baker Mayfield saying he'd cracked their defensive signal code.
A trip to Philly wouldn't be your first choice for a bounceback game, but Kirk Cousins did throw for 344 yards, 150 of them to Justin Jefferson, and the Eagles gave up 316 air yards to Mac Jones last week.
But Jalen Hurts, who didn't play in the preseason, started slowly last season before having a huge Week 2 game against the Vikings. That kind of lightning can most certainly strike twice.
