'Hot Trainer' Andrew Balding is enjoying a terrific spell and can get the evening off to a perfect start at his local track with Primal who heads the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings in the nursery at Newbury.

After showing fair form in his first three starts, he made a most promising nursery debut in an 18-runner contest at Goodwood late last month when an eye-catching fourth behind Sword Salute.

Early interference meant Primal couldn't make the most of his single-figure draw, but he flew home in the end from a poor position, earning the 'Horse In Focus' flag. He can open his account down in grade.

Accademia is a three-year-old filly on the up for Ed Walker and she takes the eye at the foot of the weights in Newbury's mile handicap where she heads the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings.

She probably needed the run on her reappearance but has clicked with Kieran Shoemark on her last two starts, winning over seven furlongs at Doncaster and following up over this evening's course and distance.

Accademia deserved extra credit for her head win at Newbury as she came from well off the pace in a tactical affair but found plenty to lead on the line, earning the 'Horse In Focus' flag. She can improve again.

Silk Sari was a smart filly for Luca Cumani, winning the Park Hill Stakes and finishing second in the Fillies & Mares Stakes, so her daughter Hot Silk should relish the step up to a mile and a half for the first time.

In the frame in all her starts this year for 'Hot Trainer' James Fanshawe, Hot Silk went closest to getting off the mark over a furlong shorter at this track last time, going down by a head to Flightofthephoenix.

Picking her way through from the rear and keeping on well, Hot Silk earned the 'Sectional Timing' flag as well as the 'Horse In Focus' flag and can go one better here in first-time cheekpieces.
