Tuesday Racing Tips: Timeform's three to follow over the jumps at Warwick and Fontwell

13:55, Warwick - Kiwi de Cotte interesting back over fences

Kiwi de Cotte was well supported for his Rules debut in a novice hunters chase at Wexford in May earlier this year when trained by Denis Paul Murphy having won both of his completed starts in points but a serious error stopped him in his tracks.

He was making eye-catching headway at the time, however, and he's since won two of his four starts over hurdles since joining Dan Skelton, both coming at Market Rasen at just short of three miles.

Kiwi de Cotte has run a couple of stinkers on either side of those wins, trailing in last place at Bangor recently having beaten the winner of that race previously. It is interesting that connections send him back over fences now and, given his background, he should have plenty more to offer in this sphere.

14:12, Fontwell - Virtual Rock well treated under a penalty

Virtual Rock had some useful form on the Flat when trained in France - was a winner in listed company - and he looked a promising hurdle when winning one of his two starts for Robert Eddery in 2024.

He wasn't seen for another two years, however, and didn't offer much in two starts for John Butler last month.

Virtual Rock belied long odds and proved a different proposition on his first start for Des Donovan at Uttoxeter last week, though, clearly travelling best some way out and, having led from the fourth, he asserted between the last two to win with a bit in hand.

Connections have wisely turned him out under a penalty - he's 3lb clear on Timeform weight-adjusted ratings - and he looks capable of following up in what looks a weaker race.

15:57, Fontwell - Starshine Legend open to further improvement

Starshine Legend had some fairly useful form on the Flat and he is now going the right way over hurdles having shown promise in three starts at around two miles.

It was the step up to two and a half miles for his handicap debut which allowed him to advance his form further, fitted with cheekpieces for the first time in this sphere and clearly relishing the step up in trip to open his account at Worcester last month.

The form of that race is working out well, too, with the third and fourth both winning next time and, with the prospect of even better to come now having his stamina stretched further, he makes plenty of appeal from a 7lb higher mark
