'Jockey Uplift' Cobden a positive for Princess Keri
Spike Jones made a winning reappearance in this staying handicap hurdle 12 months ago and looks capable of doing the same this season.
He was unable to add to that success in two subsequent starts last season but ran creditably on both occasions, especially considering he was against better-calibre rivals in a more competitive contest at Windsor on his final outing. He's been dropped a couple of pounds since finishing sixth at Windsor so is able to run off 1 lb lower than when successful in this race last year.
He'd been beaten less than a length in fourth on his only previous visit to Lingfield so has Timeform's Horses For Courses Flag to highlight his effectiveness at this venue, and he looks likely to launch another bold bid.

Anthony Honeyball landed Wincanton's feature contest on Saturday with Gustavian, in doing so enhancing his fine record with horses returning from a break.
Since the start of October, Honeyball has had seven winners from 21 runners returning from an absence of 150 days or longer. He bids to enhance that impressive record at Hereford on Tuesday with Presenting A Queen who makes her stable debut having last been seen finishing sixth in a mares' handicap chase at Cheltenham in April 2024.
She has the Timeform squiggle to show that she's unreliable, but she's been given a chance by the handicapper - she's 3 lb clear on Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings - and her trainer's recent record suggests she's likely to be fit enough to do herself justice. In addition to faring well with those returning from a break, Honeyball has Timeform's Hot Trainer Flag to highlight the overall good form of the yard.

Winning chaser Princess Keri produced an encouraging effort when runner-up in a handicap hurdle on her reappearance at Chepstow, earning the Horse In Focus Flag from Timeform's reporter to mark her out as one likely to be of firm interest next time.
Princess Keri rallied well at Chepstow to get to within a neck of Sweet Caryline, who gave the form a big boost when scoring in a higher grade at Wincanton on Saturday. The sixth home at Chepstow, Just Her Type, also won next time out, so Princess Keri looks fairly treated off just a 2 lb higher mark here.
She narrowly heads Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings and should appreciate the slightly stiffer test of stamina at Lingfield, where conditions are unlikely to be quite so quick as they were at Chepstow. The booking of Harry Cobden also looks like a positive and has generated Timeform's Jockey Uplift Flag.
