Thursday Racing Tips: Timeform's three to back including a magical bet at Southwell

15:05, Perth - Magnolia to secure another late autumn win

6

Magnolia (Fr)

• J: Joshua Thompson
• T: Micky Hammond & Becky Smith
• F: 55602-343

• SBK 9/2
• EXC 4.7

Magnolia is going through a good spell and, with race fitness on her side, she narrowly shades the vote over interesting handicap debutant Tap Tap Shamie.

The Micky Hammond & Becky Smith-trained mare shaped encouragingly over C&D last month on her return to action and should be sharper with that first run since May under her belt.

Her three wins have come in October and November, and from this BHA mark of 108 - 4 lb lower than her last win - she looks to have leading claims.

17:00, Southwell - Eye-catching C&D third Magic Trip to score

6 (3)

Magic Trip

• J: P. J. McDonald
• T: Andrew Balding
• F: 18-350523

• SBK 10/3
• EXC 3.4

Magic Trip finished to really good effect when third over C&D earlier this month and Andrew Balding's gelding is fancied to record a first handicap success over Island Bear and Nursia.

The Study Of Man gelding has been eased another pound by the handicapper despite that promising effort (fast closing sectionals), and this strong stayer should appreciate the likely good pace set by the keen-going Mystic Moment.

18:00, Southwell - Fairly-treated Yes Walim the one to beat

2 (10)

Yes Waliim (Ire)

• J: Donagh Murphy
• T: Richard Hughes
• F: 67461264

• SBK 10/3
• EXC 3.4

Yes Walim shaped much better than the bare result when fourth at Wolverhampton 17 days ago, denied a clear run before keeping on well, and is fancied to make amends.

The Richard Hughes-trained three-year-old is fully effective over this shorter trip, having won at Lingfield in August, and is now back down to the mark he won off that day.

With 5 lb claimer Donagh Murphy booked, a big run looks on the cards.
