There was plenty to like about the debut of Secret Of Life at Wolverhampton last August and she can go in again in the Unsung Heroes Fillies' Novice Stakes over seven furlongs at Haydock.

The Pinatubo filly won by over two lengths from subsequent winners and that gives her a form edge in this, clear Timeform top-rated, with a 'p' attached to her rating, too.

With the Ralph Beckett team in good form (Timeform have recorded a Run To Form percentage of 64.92% for the stable this season) she is expected to hit the ground running.

James Fanshawe has the Timeform hot trainer flag to indicate a stable in good form and his Obsidian Verse looks a likely type in the Early Bird Handicap over six furlongs on Thursday.

The three-year-old dropped in trip to six at Southwell last time out and ran out a ready winner and value for more than the half-length winning margin.

Indeed, a 4lb rise sees him top of the Timeform ratings on 89p and he could go back-to-back as long as he translates his improvement back to the turf.

Trilby looks to be working his way towards a sixth career win and he could strike for Sam England in the First In, Last To Leave Handicap over five furlongs.

The six-year-old looks well treated now 7lb below his last winning mark and he showed a bit more of his old zest at Beverley last time after another tardy start.

Well backed into 9/4 favouritism, he's clearly on the path to being where his yard wants him and this looks a good opportunity for him to win again at a track he likes (has the horses for courses flag with three of his career wins coming here).
