14:10, Market Rasen - Louis Veron potentially well treated

Dan Skelton has already amassed 59 winners this season at a strike rate of 39% and Loius Veron is expected to provide further success in the Summer Hurdle.

He has made good strides in his short career so far, not having to improve on previous form to open his account at Warwick last month, but he wasn't fully extended to do so, and he was even more impressive when following up under a penalty at Stratford recently.

Loius Veron again started at prohibitive odds, but was in a completely different league to his rivals, jumping fluently while travelling powerfully before stretching 16 lengths clear on the bridle.

He was given the Horse In Focus Flag following that performance and, while he now dips his toe into deeper waters on his handicap debut, and opening mark of 124 could well underestimate him, particularly given he's open to further improvement.

16:35, Curragh - Thundering On hard to oppose on ratings

Thundering On only opened her account in April, but she did so in good fashion in a Group 3 event, and improved a chunk to win the Oaks at Epsom in the style of a high-class filly.

The step up to a mile and a half for the first time was a clear catalyst for that improvement, very confidently ridden under a more patient ride, and the turn of foot she produced having travelling powerfully into contention was most impressive.

Indeed, she produced the best performance in the Oaks this century on Timeform ratings, and as a result she was a short-priced favourite to follow up in the Pretty Polly Stakes three weeks ago.

She wasn't in the same form that day, but she was found to be coughing post-race, which is an obvious excuse, and it's probably best to forgive her that effort. The return to a mile and a half will be in her favour and she sets a very tall standard on form - she's at least 12lb clear on Timeform weight-adjusted ratings.

17:20, Newbury - All Moonshine can quickly resume winning ways

All Moonshine has proved very progressive on the all-weather, completing a hat-trick on her handicap debut and first start at a mile in February, and she shaped very well after four months off at Royal Ascot last month.

That was also her turf debut which came in the ultra-competitive Kensington Palace Stakes and she was undone by the draw, faring best of those who raced in the unfavoured far-side group in a race which was dominated by those drawn high.

She was still bang there with every chance entering the final furlong, but was unable to maintain her effort in the closing stages. All Moonshine is entitled to strip fitter for that outing now and she seems sure to launch another bold bid racing from the same mark in a lesser race.
