Cheltenham, 13:15 - Jagwar to win the battle of the 'Horses In Focus'

One of two Timeform 'Horses In Focus' in this great little handicap, Jagwar signed off a great novice chase campaign with success in the Plate over C&D in March and can build on his eye-catching reappearance third here to quickly resume winning ways.

The JP McManus-owned gelding won the Timeform Novices' Handicap Chase on this card last season and has taken big strides forward since, going on to win at the Festival before shaping well over C&D last month when making his reappearance.

The handicapper has edged him up a further 1 lb but he is still clear top on Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings (with a 'small p' indicating improvement is expected) and this strong-travelling sort looks set to have ideal conditions here, with Uncle Bert and Javert Allen likely to set a solid gallop, and he's fancied to prove too strong for fellow HIF Booster Bob where it matters.

Doncaster, 14:05 - Progressive Grande Geste to defy weights rise for 'Hot Trainer'

It was a significant Haydock handicap (Tommy Whittle) in which Grand Geste - the only Timeform 'Horse In Focus in the field here and top on ratings (with a small p) - opened his chase account at the third attempt last month, jumping superbly throughout and leaving the strong impression that there is even better to come from him in this sphere.

Joel Parkinson & Sue Smith currently have their horses in good form (Hot Trainer flag) and Grande Geste is taken to defy a 10 lb rise in the weights and follow-up, with the progressive Deep Cave (2/2 since going chasing on these shores) and Walking On Air, who appeared to have Docpickedme where he wanted him when exiting at the final fence in this race last year, considered the main dangers.

Cheltenham, 15:35 - Ratings favour 'Horse In Focus' Impose Toi

Progressive stayer Impose Toi can confirm his superiority over Strong Leader who he beat off these weights last time and extend an impressive winning sequence.

Nicky Henderson - who currently has the Timeform 'Hot Trainer' flag - has brought the eight-year-old along steadily after injury in early-2024, but connections have been rewarded with one of the most progressive stayers in training.

Beaten by a handicap blot in last season's Coral Cup, Impose Toi has won all three starts this term since stepping up in trip and, top on Timeform ratings, he can further enhance his Stayers' Hurdle claims with success here.
