15:45, Taunton - Wicked Thoughts can get back on the up

Wicked Thoughts had some fair form over hurdles, opening his account in that sphere at Ascot last season, but he's very much a chasing type on looks, and immediately showed improved form when making a winning start over fences over this course and distance in November.

He was returning from seven months off on that occasion, his accurate jumping a highlight, sealing matters with a fluent leap at the last. The runner-up rallied on the run-in, but he ultimately had more in hand than the neck margin suggests.

Wicked Thoughts was unable to follow up at Exeter last time, but he was beaten some way from home, and that clearly wasn't his proper running. That was also his first start on ground Timeform described as softer than good, so the return to a sound surface will be in his favour, and he's well worth another chance to progress further in this sphere after a short break.

17:15, Taunton - Crest of Arms has more to offer

Crest of Arms is from a useful family - out of a mare closely related to Grand National winner Rule The World - and he showed ability while displaying clear signs of greenness on his debut in a three-year-old bumper at Wincanton in November.

He hung badly to his left on that occasion, but started to hit top gear in the straight, finishing with running left, and he improved as expected in a listed bumper at Cheltenham last time.

Crest of Arms shaped better than the bare result on that occasion, given too much to do, but he impressed with the ground he made up on the home turn before that big move into contention seemingly told in the closing stages.

There should be further improvement in him, but he already sets a good standard and, provided none of the newcomers prove above average, he should take plenty of beating.

17:30, Wolverhampton - Henery Hawk caught the eye on the clock last time

Henery Hawk has done all of his winning on the all-weather, including over this course and distance, and he's been shaping up well of late.

He ran an encouraging race on his return from eight weeks off over this course and distance earlier this month, slowly away and having too much to do as a result, running on strongly in the straight but unable to reel in the reopposing all-the-way winner Kento.

Henery Hawk is 3lb better off with that rival now, and his performance that day can be upgraded further when taking his closing sectional into account, given the Sectional Flag as a result. He's well drawn in stall 1 and is fancied to reverse that form with Kento from what looks an appealing mark - he's won off higher in the past.
