Felix Gem made no impact on his debut in December, but he had shaped with plenty of promise when denied by only a neck at Wolverhampton in January and carried on his run-by-run progress when getting off the mark at Chelmsford last month.
Felix Gem had raced freely at Wolverhampton but settled better when dropped in trip to a mile at Chelmsford which allowed him to finish off his race powerfully and run out a decisive length-and-a-quarter winner.
That form has been well advertised by the second and the third both going on to win next time out, so an opening BHA mark of 77 could underestimate Felix Gem who comes out 5 lb clear on Timeform's ratings.
He also still has the Timeform 'small p' to show he's likely to improve further, and the way he settled last time offers hope he can prove effective back up in trip here.

Hint of Humour, a prolific winner towards the back-end of 2025, has continued in good order and has finished runner-up on two of her three starts this year.
She wasn't seen to best effect from a poor draw when down the field on her penultimate start over this course and distance, but she quickly got back on track here last time, finishing runner-up off the same mark she competes from on Friday.
Usual rider William Carson has had plenty of success aboard Hint of Humour, winning three times and finishing first past the post but later demoted on another occasion, but the booking of Billy Loughnane for the first time has generated Timeform's Jockey Uplift Flag. Loughnane was the most prolific rider in 2025, when he set a 21st century for number of winners, and he already leads the way this year.

Maximising was beaten four lengths in eighth at Wolverhampton last time but shaped much better than that result would suggest and may even have gone close with better luck in running.
He looked to be in the process of delivering a strong challenge but was caught behind weakening rivals inside the final furlong and lost all chance. He didn't get the chance to show his true worth, but there was enough promise in the display for him to be awarded the Horse In Focus Flag by Timeform's reporter, marking him out as one likely to be of firm interest next time.
Maximising also still has the Timeform 'small p' and the step up in trip to a mile for the first time is expected to help unlock that improvement.
