Aeroplane Blonde shaped well on handicap debut
Fierce Handay offered encouragement despite still looking rough around the edges when fourth on his handicap debut at Gowran Park last month and duly built on that promise at Fairyhouse last time, justifying strong support in the process.
That was a well-contested handicap which is likely to provide solid form, but Fierce Handay ran out an emphatic winner, looming up on the home turn before readily drawing three and three-quarter lengths clear of the second favourite who was 12 lengths ahead of the third.
The style of that success earned Fierce Handay Timeform's Horse In Focus Flag, marking him out as one likely to be of firm interest next time, and even an 11 lb higher mark might not be enough to stop him following up as he comes out 3 lb clear on Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings. He also still has the Timeform 'small p' to show that he's likely to improve further.

Fierce Warrior was runner-up behind a subsequent winner on his chasing debut at Sedgefield and he built on that promise to score here last month.
Fierce Warrior impressed with how he went through that contest, travelling smoothly at the head of affairs and jumping soundly in the main, and he picked up well when challenged up the run-in to get the verdict by three-quarters of a length.
That form is working out nicely as the runner-up and the third both won next time out, so a 6 lb rise in the weights may not be enough to stop the progressive Fierce Warrior who still has the Timeform 'small p'.

Aeroplane Blonde chased home a subsequent winner when runner-up in a novice hurdle at Carlisle in October and then shaped much better than the distance beaten would suggest when fourth on his handicap debut at Cheltenham last month.
Aeroplane Blonde was held up and pulled hard in the early stages of a race run at just a modest tempo, but he made significant headway after the fourth last to move into a share of the lead.
He was still in with a chance jumping the final flight but, having made such a big move, he failed to sustain his effort up the run-in and was ultimately beaten by seven lengths. That eye-catching performance earned Aeroplane Blonde the Horse In Focus Flag, while he also still has the Timeform 'small p' to show that he's expected to do better under more favourable circumstances. He looks likely to get a stronger pace to chase at Doncaster and that can help bring about a bigger effort.
