Timeform pick out the horses to note on Friday

Timeform highlight three horses of interest at Aintree on Friday.

Aintree Day 2 Superboost

The Willie Mullins-trained Gold Dancer has been well-backed for the Mildmay Novices' Chase at 14:20 and he's odds-on to finish in the top three on Friday.

The Betfair Sportsbook have super-boosted his price to 1/12.00 to finish in the top three places, and you can take advantage of Friday's Superboost by clicking on the odds below to go directly to the pre-loaded betslip.

NAP: Aintree, 16:05 - Top-rated Madara can make light of rise in the weights

Not long with his current yard (formerly with Sophie Leech/Keiran Burke), Madara put up an impressive display when winning the Plate Handicap at Cheltenham and a rise in the weights might not prevent him from landing another major handicap.

Dan Skelton currently has the 'Hot Trainer' flag thanks in part to a run of form that has seen the yard score with 10 of their last 41 runners (at the time of writing), while Madara himself picked up the 'Horse In Focus' when successful last month, impressing particularly with his jumping.

The handicapper has reacted with a 10 lb rise but he is still top on Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings and looks sure to go well for a yard that will be keen to tick this race off their 'completed' list.

Aintree, 15:30 - Ground key to Heart Wood follow-up bid

Clear top-rated Heart Wood looked better than ever when a dominant winner of the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival - pulling 10 lengths clear of the top-class Jonbon - and shades the vote over Grey Dawning, who could well be suited by this drop back in distance but had quite a hard race when fourth in the Gold Cup.

The absence of Jonbon - who has won the last two renewals of this race - leaves the path clear for his Cheltenham conqueror who is very much at home on this spring ground, as his career-best effort last month shows.

He is 3 lb ahead of Solness and 4lb ahead of Grey Dawning on weight-adjusted ratings and looks to have found the perfect race in which to secure a second top-level success.

Aintree, 17:15 - Unexposed Harry Lowes expected to improve again

Dan Skelton won this last year with She's A Saint and may hold the key again, with the unexposed top-rated Harry Lowes getting the verdict.

The selection wasn't seen to anywhere near best effect on his previous start in a handicap as the race was just starting to take shape when he was badly hampered, and he remains unexposed stepping back into this company following a ready beating of Count Of Vendome (who has won since) at Bangor when last seen.

He appears to have been saved for this race given his 44-day break and having the experienced stable conditional Tristan Durrell aboard is a big positive in a race of this nature. Stablemate The Mighty Kelt, a 'Horse In Focus' after his Cheltenham run, could be the main danger.

Suggested double

Heart Wood (15:30)

Madara (16:05)
