13:42, Newcastle - Hat-trick beckons for top-rated Satyress

Satyress has won both starts since upped to this trip, doing well in the circumstances when scoring at Hamilton last time, and she can continue her progress to land the hat-trick.

The Harriet Bethell-trained filly didn't show much in 2025 but has returned a much improved model following her winter break.

She shaped as if ready for this trip when fourth on her seasonal return and has since won in gritty fashion at Beverley and Hamilton.

The handicapper can't go mad given the narrow margins, meaning a 2 lb rise is manageable, especially if Porter's Song sets a true gallop.

15:39, Salisbury - Gosdens to finally get hands on valuable maiden

A valuable fillies' maiden which can go the way of Thi Qar, who shaped with plenty of encouragement when runner-up at Newmarket on debut last month and John & Thady Gosden's filly is sure to have derived plenty from that initial effort.

The Clarehaven stable faces stiff competition from Miss Miniver who represents the jockey/trainer combo that has won two of the last four renewals, and the Godolphin runner - along with a handful of fascinating newcomers - should help make Thi Qar a backable price.

From the family of the smart winner up to 1¼m (stays 1½m) King's Gambit, Thi Qar made plenty of appeal on paper on debut but showed her inexperienced when initially asked to improve, before then putting in a sustained challenge to a very expensive winning newcomer.

With that experience under her belt, she can go one better here.

17:40, Newcastle - Eye-catcher Em Jay Kay to break stable drought

It's been nearly a month since Phil McEntee saddled a winner on the Flat, but that could change on Thursday.

Em Jay Kay showed clear signs of a return to form when fourth at Windsor 10 days ago, doing good late work without being knocked about, and this C&D winner can capitalise on an attractive mark back up to six furlongs.

The seven-year-old, who tops Timeform weight-adjusted ratings, also drops in grade into a 0-55 for the first time in his career, so there are plenty of signs that point to a big performance.
