Richmond Stakes, Goodwood, 14:25 - Back Night In Vegas @ 4/15.00

Trainer Eve Johnson Houghton has never hidden her opinion of Night In Vegas and the talented colt could prove tough to resist in this intriguing renewal of the Richmond Stakes.

Although the selection lost his unbeaten record in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, he still ran with plenty of credit given he didn't enjoy the clearest of passages under Charlie Bishop.

Bishop was also on board over course and distance in May when Night In Vegas converted an obvious opportunity with ease, a performance which confirmed he is at home on the undulations of the Downs.

The well named son of Lucky Vega has a little ground to make up on Adaay Of Scarlett and Cut A Dash from Ascot, the switch to today's venue can see Night In Vegas gain revenge.

Goodwood, 16:45 - Back My A'Ali Baba each-way @ 25/126.00

This nursery is always well contested and often produces a couple of very talented recruits moving forward, none more so than in 2017 when subsequent 1,000 Guineas winner Billesdon Brook obliged.

I very much doubt My A'Ali Baba will go secure Classic glory in his lifetime, but he does appeal at a huge price to land this event, especially following an encouraging effort at Sandown last time.

A gelding operation preceded that handicap qualifying outing which saw the selection over-race early on in the hands of Saffie Osborne.

To his credit, My A'Ali Baba still possessed the quality to stick to his task in the straight tackling seven furlongs for the first time, snatching third late on when a placed effort seemed unlikely given his earlier exertions.

Colin Keane takes over in the saddle for the son of A'Ali's handicap debut here and a run at the track on his second start, admittedly on soft ground over six furlongs, should at least have prepared David Evans' juvenile for what lies in store regarding the idiosynchratic nature of the Sussex venue.
