It's a quiet Saturday afternoon for Betfair ambassador Paul Nicholls as he sends only two runners to the meeting at Haydock Park. Read on his thoughts on their form and chances...
14:05 - Orbasa would prefer better ground
Won well on good ground at Wincanton in October and could do with conditions drying up at Haydock which is obviously not going to happen given the forecast. He ran well at Kempton last time, is fit and well and is qualified for this £50,000 Challenger Series Middle Distance Final.
So he might as well take his chance though I'd be more positive about him on good going.
15:50 - Coillte Lass in with an each-way chance
Hasn't taken to fences this season but ran better over hurdles last time at Fontwell a fortnight ago and she is one of mine that can handle testing conditions. Even so Coillte Lass has struggled to hit the heights of last season and is arguably handicapped to the hilt.
With our promising conditional Alexander Thorne taking a handy seven pounds off her back I'm hopeful rather than confident that Coillte Lass has a small each way chance.
