It's been a busy Christmas period for Paul, as usual, and here he gives us his verdict on his runner at Leopardstown...

"This is obviously his stiffest task yet, but he fully deserves a crack at a Grade 1 after his two victories this season."

This is obviously his stiffest task yet, but he fully deserves a crack at a Grade 1 after his two victories this season. He followed up his win off 147 at Cheltenham with a battling win at Aintree last time. He clearly has to step up again to trouble some of these if they are at their best, but 3m on soft ground round here should be right up his street and he could surprise a few. Especially with the first time cheekpieces on. Like Conti, he can race a bit lazily on occasions - he certainly did at Cheltenham, and at Aintree - so we have stuck them on. And I can tell you that they appear to have worked well at home, where they have really sharpened him up.
