- Dry ground means few runners for now
- Forecast rain means more runners likely soon
- Shearer back to best ahead of Cheltenham bid
We haven't been running many horses recently because of quick ground around the country and will only have a handful this weekend. But we are likely to be much busier next week with plenty of rain in the forecast and will have loads of runners from the start of November.
Shearer back to his best after sore shins
He is my only runner on Saturday and was a bit backward last season when he also suffered from sore shins from time to time. He is over that problem now after we pin-fired his shins and he looked to be back to his best as he won stylishly on his return to action at Worcester a fortnight ago.
I've always thought Shearer would make a chaser and the plan is to send him over fences after Cheltenham. He stays well.
