A three-strong team go for Paul Nicholls at Newton Abbot on Saturday and all look to have good chances according to the UK's reigning champion trainer...

"Mon Parrain is a fine jumper who ran very well last time giving weight to a fair horse at Warwick and has everything in his favour here on better ground over three-and-a-quarter miles."

While he has been disappointing this winter he hasn't enjoyed racing on soft ground and I am looking for improvement now that he has a little operation to cauterise his palate.

He has been dropped to a mark of 129 and should appreciate the good going at Newton Abbot over a trip that looks ideal.

Armour de Nuit

A five-time winner on the flat who has taken well to hurdles, has been very consistent and looks to have Coole Cody to beat.
A real staying two mile hurdler, he didn't quite home over further on the two times he tried it so track and trip look be perfect for him under a 6lb penalty.

He goes next for a £20,000 novice hurdle at Newton Abbot next month. Big chance.

Mon Parrain

By some way the highest rated of the five runners and should give his enthusiastic owner rider David Maxwell another great spin.

Mon Parrain is a fine jumper who ran very well last time giving weight to a fair horse at Warwick and has everything in his favour here on better ground over three-and-a-quarter miles.
