Cheltenham 14:50 - Modus
Came good with a clear cut success in the Lanzarote Hurdle last time at Kempton but he is now 11lbs higher on a mark of 156 so Stan Sheppard's 5lbs claim comes is handy.
Modus is a serious horse who will enjoy the drying ground here in what is basically a limited handicap. I expect him to run very well.
Cheltenham 14:50 - Old Guard
A horse with great course form in the past. We started Old Guard over fences this season but when things didn't quite go to plan we took the decision to switch him back to hurdles.
While he didn't get home behind Unowhatimeanharry at Cheltenham last time he had previously run well to finish fourth behind Modus at Kempton and is now better off with him at the weights.
Cheltenham 16:50 - Dolos
A good looking horse bought from France who won easily on his debut for us and has been highly tried since. I've been suspicious of his wind for a while and sent him away to have his palate cauterised after his most recent run at Taunton where I was initially a bit disappointed that he could only finish behind Air Horse One and The Unit.
Both have since won to frank the form and Dolos, who has been dropped 1lb, worked nicely at Wincanton recently. He is definitely a player in a tough handicap in which we have done well in the past.
Cheltenham 16:50 - Dreamcatching
Another French recruit who did everything wrong first time for us when well beaten at Kempton.
He then looked very good next time at Wincanton where he settled better, travelled like a dream and readily came clear at the finish in a National Hunt novice hurdle.
I've kept him for this race since he was given a mark of 131 which I am hoping is on the generous side.
