Carlisle, 13:30 - Back Real Dream E/W @ 20/121.00

Returning to handicap company following a disappointing effort in the Group Three Ormonde Stakes at Chester, likeable gelding Real Dream may be worth keeping the faith in if able to return to form. He is a capable performer on his day and finished a great fifth to subsequent Breeders' Cup winner Ethical Diamond in last season's Ebor when rated 2lb higher.

This year, the seven-year-old has shown he's still capable of performing to a high level when only narrowly denied in the Red Sea Turf Handicap in Riyadh, a Group Two contest won by Sons And Lovers. He was able to outrun odds of 22/123.00 that day and, although he hasn't been able to repeat the feat in two runs back in Britain, he's capable of better.

On a workable mark if on a going day, Real Dream shouldn't be discounted as he has quality and has form in deep waters, including in recent runs. He is one to note each-way for Ian Williams under Tom Marquand, who has been among the winners this week.

Beverley, 13:45 - Back Sportingsilvermine E/W @ 8/19.00

James Owen-trained Sportingsilvermine makes appeal under Oisin Orr in this mile-and-a-quarter handicap. He has struggled for form recently but has been running over varied distances and the return to this trip may well suit from a lower mark.

He's now 4lb higher than his last win but is lower rated than when narrowly denied at Yarmouth last term, and has been able to put in multiple competitive efforts from a higher rating over the past year.

Although things haven't quite clicked for the five-year-old so far this year, he is in with a chance at the weights should he rediscover some form and this could be an opportunity for him to do so, in a smaller field.

Bet of the day: Carlisle, 14:00 - Back Rousing Encore E/W @ 9/110.00

Ruth Carr-trained Rousing Encore didn't run his usual race at York when last seen, but excuses can be made for the disappointing effort and he's good enough to bounce back from a 1lb lower mark here. He's 4lb higher than his latest success, when winning at Ayr in September, but has gone close from his current mark since then, when narrowly denied in a higher class Doncaster handicap at the end of his previous campaign.

The six-year-old is generally consistent and began this season well with a second-placed effort at Newcastle. He emerged with credit from a competitive Newmarket handicap in his subsequent run, and could be worth keeping the faith in under James Sullivan, as he's usually a reliable type, who can often outrun his odds, and is on a mark from which he can pose a threat with a favourable trip.

Carlisle, 14:33 - Back Celandine @ 4/15.00

In this Listed sprint, Ed Walker-trained Celandine is an interesting contender under Kieran Shoemark. She could take a significant step forward for her return to action at Newmarket, and has the credentials to make her presence felt in this field having landed Group Two honours over a subsequent Commonwealth Cup winner previously when landing the Lowther Stakes as a juvenile.

Last year, the daughter of Kingman placed at Group Three level before being narrowly denied by course specialist Roman Dragon at Chester, and was far from disgraced despite being unable to pose a threat in the Nunthorpe at York.

There could still be more to come from Celandine, who is yet to be fully exposed in twelve starts. She's a promising sprinter and may be good enough to put in a bold bid in this field.

Beverley, 16:00 - Back Glenfinnan E/W @ 8/19.00

Glenfinnan hasn't been seen to best effect so far this term but he's capable of much better and has dropped to a lenient mark of 78 now, 15lb lower than his previous win.

Despite being winless since August 2024, when winning at Sandown, the Michael Dods-trained gelding has put in a couple of competitive efforts since, including when second at the Irish Champions Festival last season from a 4lb higher mark.

The six-year-old is on a workable rating should he return to some form and, with some excuses to be made for his latest outing, could be worth keeping the faith in.

Chester, 16:05 - Back Ruby's Angel @ 4/15.00

Three-year-old filly Ruby's Angel finished second to Cherry Baker from a 1lb lower mark over course-and-distance last month. She ran well for a long way from the front that day, before being beaten by a closer late on, but may be able to reverse the form and could be worth keeping onside.

Making only her eighth career start, the daughter of Starman has shaped with great promise, generally running consistently well throughout her career to date, and has the scope for further improvement. She has shown she can be competitive from a similar mark at this track, has course form in her favour, and may come on for her opening run of the season.

Listowel, 17:00 - Back Whatsavailable E/W @ 9/110.00

Experienced nine-year-old Whatsavailable is 4lb lower than his last winning mark and proved he still retains plenty of ability when third in his penultimate start at Cork. He's on the same rating as that placed effort here, with 5lb claiming Josh Williamson in the saddle, and should be suited by this assignment, making appeal at the weights.

This could be a feasible opportunity for the Mouse Morris-trained gelding to land a fourth career win, and he should be capable of a big run. He's a likeable performer on his day and, following a promising run in April, after a run worth forgiving at Wexford when unseating, he is one to note.

Lingfield, 18:42 - Back Hitched E/W @ 20/121.00

From a mark of 78, David Simcock-trained Hitched warrants consideration as he seeks a tenth career success in this 1m1f contest. He has been competitive from a similar rating in recent months, running consistently well over the winter, and is back on his last winning mark when successful at Wolverhampton in January.

Whilst most of his runs have come on an all-weather surface, he is two from nine on Turf, and could be fare better than in his latest outing on his return to this surface. The six-year-old is on a workable mark under Darragh Keenan, dropping back down in class, and may be able to pose a threat.
