Conrad Allen-trained Tyger Bay is on a workable mark of 75 in this handicap and is capable of faring better than in his latest couple of outings. He was seen to good effect when second at Lingfield earlier in the summer, beaten a length-and-a-half by Charlie Mason at odds of 14/115.00 on that occasion when pulling six-lengths clear of third-placed Hierarchy, and could pose a threat from a 2lb lower rating.
Only 1lb higher than his last winning mark currently, Tyger Bay makes appeal at the weights and could put in a creditable effort under Joe Leavy, who has ridden him to victory in the past.

Making his first appearance following a gelding operation, Avicenna could prove worth supporting at a big price for Roger Varian. He had excuses for a disappointing effort in the Jersey Stakes, and, prior to that, had only put in one disappointing effort in his career to date, when down the field in the 2,000 Guineas won by Bow Echo.
An eye-catching second in the Craven earlier this year, when entitled to improve for his return to action at Newmarket following a 216-day break, the inexperienced performer stuck to the task well to chase home Oxagon.
The winner hasn't boosted the form but had shown promise as a juvenile, and could be capable of better in future, whilst fourth-placed Venetian Prince has gone on to land the Italian Derby and finished a good second at odds of 66/167.00 in a Windsor Group Three recently.
As a juvenile last season, Avicenna was unbeaten in two starts at Doncaster, the latter in the Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes when beating Hankelow who went on to place third to Rayif in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains at Longchamp.
If putting a line through his latest run and forgiving his disappointing outing in a hugely competitive Classic, Avicenna shouldn't be discounted from this field and makes appeal at the prices, capable of outrunning his odds if returning to his earlier season form and resuming his progression.

Despite being a big-priced outsider, Ashariba is one to note in this mile-and-a-quarter Listed contest for David Menuisier. The yard has struggled for winners in recent months but some of their recent runners have made the frame, performing well, and this five-year-old mare could be capable of outrunning her odds under David Egan.
The daughter of Ribchester has winning form at this level having landed a Saint-Cloud contest last autumn over the distance, and, although she hasn't been seen to her best in recent outings, could be able to find a resurgence now dropped back down in distance and having had a recent run.
At Le Lion d'Angers in May, Ashariba finished second in Listed company to Familly when sent off as favourite, proving she still retains ability. It's too early to give up on the mare and she shouldn't be discounted.

Four-year-old gelding Point Of Contact could be worth keeping onside for Andrew Balding and Jason Watson, sporting cheekpieces once again which were first tried when beaten only a length-and-a-half in fifth at Salisbury recently.
The son of Blue Point has been dropped 2lb for his recent efforts, now only 1lb higher than his last winning mark when successful at York in June beating Frankies Dream on that occasion. He has shown snippets of good form in higher class contests against tough opposition previously, therefore should be able to hold his own in this field and could return to the winners' enclosure with a favourable trip.

Course-and-distance winner Copper And Five is one to note at the weights for Ruth Carr and Joanna Mason, on a rating of 48 which is 7lb below his last winning mark. He's bidding for a seventh career win in his 60th start in this extended mile handicap, and could put in a competitive effort on the back of a fourth-placed effort in a Classified contest at Ripon when well-beaten by the winner Rogers Dream but able to outrun odds of 22/123.00.
Back in handicap company here, the experienced 10-year-old, who has shown he still retains plenty of ability this year, could fare better. He finished second to Saxon Grace in his penultime start over course-and-distance following on from two second-placed efforts at the track earlier in the season, including when only beaten half-a-length by Coolree.
