Dundalk, 16:02 - Back Inishfallen @ 16/54.20

Stephen Thorne won this race 12 months ago with Hightimeyouwon and saddles Inishfallen in this year's contest.

The four-year-old is bidding to make it third time lucky for the yard having joined from Brian Meehan's last year. In two runs at the track so far, including when fourth over course-and-distance recently, Inishfallen has emerged with credit in defeat.

There should be more to come from him and he's an attractive proposition from a mark of 83 with 3lb claimer Jack Kearney aboard.

The son of Exceed And Excel, who fetched £70,000 as a yearling before being purchased by current connections for 18,000gns last autumn, is yet to add to his maiden win in his second start at Kempton during the summer of 2023, but has been able to perform well on a number of occasions since.

He was only narrowly denied by Aablan in the Group Three Solario Stakes when outrunning his odds of 22/123.00 that day, having finished third in a competitive Ebor Festival handicap previously. More recently, he has failed to reach those heights but has proved useful and was beaten only two-lengths from a 5lb higher mark in a Windsor handicap in July.

Making appeal at the weights, Inishfallen has the ability to put in a bold bid in this 7f contest and should be able to make his presence felt.

Kempton, 17:30 - Back Griselda E/W @ 12/113.00

Four-year-old filly Griselda has been in the tracker for a while following a promising juvenile campaign.

She now resides with Henrietta Knight and has dropped from a career-high mark of 83 to a rating of 55 as she bids to return to some form. In two recent efforts at Lingfield, particularly in her latest outing recently, the daughter of Kodi Bear shaped as a horse worth keeping onside.

Griselda was beaten only four-and-a-half-lengths by winner Porfin, who was two-lengths clear of the field, in a bunched finish, struggling for a clear run but catching the eye despite finishing last of the eight contenders.

Down 3lb for that effort and running in a different contest here in the amateur jockeys opener, Griselda makes each-way appeal and could take another step forward from her latest run.

Kempton, 18:30 - Back Mbappe @ 3/14.00

Mbappe put in a much improved effort over course-and-distance when last seen, beaten only three-quarters-of-a-length by Token Gesture, running on strongly from the rear of the field following a slow start. He caught the eye in defeat, emerging with credit particularly considering his early position, and should be able to put in another bold bid from an unchanged mark of 58.

The son of Blue Point, who fetched 43,000gns as a yearling, is now 6lb lower than his last winning mark when victorious at Lingfield in July 2024. He was able to finish third to the hugely progressive Tribal Chief in his subsequent start at this venue, placing a couple of times at Kempton from a mark of 70, including under returning rider Billy Loughnane in a higher class handicap.

From a workable mark, Mbappe holds strong claims and could be tough to beat as he seeks a fourth win in his 24th start.

Kempton, 20:30 - Back Shadow Dance E/W @ 14/115.00

Making his first start for Rebecca Menzies, six-year-old grey Shadow Dance is one to note in the Kempton finale under in-form rider Kaiya Fraser.

Formerly trained by Roger Varian, Shadow Dance shaped with plenty of promise for his previous yard and recorded two wins, including from a mark of 95 at the York Ebor Festival when narrowly beating Lieber Power. He was only narrowly denied by Faylaq from a rating of 100, too, before featuring in the Ebor and Mallard handicaps last season.

From a workable mark of 97, Shadow Dance makes each-way appeal. He has won over a mile-and-a-half previously, therefore shouldn't be discounted over this shorter trip, and could be able to make the frame on yard debut.
