Horse Racing Tips: Katie Midwinter's best bets on Tuesday including 9/2 Nottingham fancy

Bet of the day: Nottingham, 17:15 - Back Logi Bear @ 9/25.50

Three-year-old gelding Logi Bear shaped with promise as a juvenile last term with placed efforts behind the likes of Coppull and Havana Hurricane in respective maiden and novice races, as well as a Newmarket maiden success and fourth-placed effort to Maximized at Epsom.

Although his form wasn't quite as impressive later during his debut campaign, he did finish a creditable fifth to Aradisia in a competitive Goodwood handicap when rated 83.

Having switched from Richard Hannon's to John Butler's earlier this year, the son of Kodi Bear is yet to strike for his new trainer, failing to add to his sole success to date.

Despite this, he has threatened when a length second to Daizen at Thirsk in his penultimate start. He performed well for a long way at York before failing to sustain his challenge, but could find better luck down in class here and may be worth keeping the faith in.

Making appeal at the weights for an in-form yard under in-form rider David Egan, who has a 33 percent strike-rate for the yard so far this year, Logi Bear gets the nod and may be able to return to winning ways.

Nottingham, 17:50 - Back Squealer @ 6/17.00

Squealer drops further in class in this 5f contest from a low mark of 73. He hasn't been at his best this season but is in calmer waters from a mark 15lb lower than his last win when successful at York last year, beating Jm Jungle on that occasion.

The six-year-old is proven over the distance and was far from disgraced behind Equity Law at Pontefract when equipped with first-time cheekpieces last month, despite finishing down the field. He's capable of much better and could find a resurgence in form for Nigel Tinkler under Rowan Scott in this contest.

Wolverhampton, 18:30 - Back Eagle Day E/W @ 17/29.50

In the second race at Wolverhampton, an extended 1m1f handicap, Eagle Day warrants consideration for David Evans as he bids for an eighth career win in his 50th start. He's currently 1lb lower than when placed first over a furlong shorter here in March, and 14lb lower than when last finishing in front.

His latest run is worth forgiving having got off to a sluggish start that day and, although he's generally inconsistent, he's more than capable of hitting the frame from his current rating on a going day. With a favourable trip, the course-and-distance winner should be able to make his presence felt under Pat Cosgrave and could pose a threat for an in-form yard.

Salisbury, 20:21 - Back Follow My Heart @ 10/34.33

Seven-race maiden Follow My Heart could finally get off the mark for Rod Millman in this 5f sprint. She has been running well in recent outings, finishing in third and fourth respectively in her latest couple of runs when beaten only a length-and-a-half on both occasions, including in first-time blinkers when last seen.

Without headgear on this occasion, the three-year-old filly returns to handicap company from a low mark and, having gained some more valuable experience, could strike in the hands of Oisin Murphy. She has shown she possesses some ability with a couple of threatening runs and should be capable of recording a first career win for an in-form yard under an in-form rider.

The daughter of Sergei Prokofiev may prove worth keeping onside and shouldn't be discounted as she bids to shed her maiden tag at the eighth time of asking in the penultimate race at Salisbury.

Wolverhampton, 20:30 - Back Blue Celestial @ 3/14.00

Advertise filly Blue Celestial is still seeking her first career success in her 11th start but is another who could finally get off the mark having made the frame on a few occasions already. She has finished third on four occasions so far this year since joining the James Tate stable, and was a length-and-a-quarter second to Suggy at Kempton in May when outrunning odds of 18/119.00 from a 1lb higher mark.

Whilst she struggled to make an impact in her latest run at the Sunbury-on-Thames venue, excuses can be made for that outing and she's capable of better. This could be a feasible opportunity for the three-year-old filly to finally finish with her head in front under in-form rider Silvestre De Sousa, and she is one to note.
