Limerick, 14:05 - Back Nazine E/W @ 9/110.00
Eight-year-old gelding Nazine has only won once in 37 starts during his career to date, when landing his maiden hurdle in 2021. Although he is winless since, he has been able to put in some competitive efforts to make the frame and shown ability.
In a competitive 28-runner handicap at Leopardstown in the Christmas of 2021, Nazine finished a good second to Priory Park at odds of 25/126.00, and was able to place third to Trevena at Ballinrobe the following May.
Over fences, he finished third to Lady Kate at Tipperary last year, and chased home Bal Kauto at a price of 28/129.00 in a Kilbeggan handicap over timber during the summer.
Whilst Nazine was unable to build on that promising outing in subsequent starts, he returned to some form when a creditable fourth to Destivelle at Thurles last month, outrunning his price of 25/126.00, and this could be the time to keep him onside for owner-trainer Michael McDonagh.
Nazine was seen staying on strongly on a sounder surface in his latest start, sticking to the task well in the closing stages. He has shown some form in softer conditions and over a longer distance, therefore should be suited by this tougher test over the minimum trip.
From a low mark of 74 over hurdles, Nazine shouldn't be discounted in the hands of Ryan Treacy, making each-way appeal at odds of 9/110.00.

Lingfield, 15:15 - Back Whatsupwithyou @ 15/28.50
Ben Pauling-trained Whatsupwithyou has his top weight burden eased by 10lb claimer Elliott England, who partnered him to his latest success at Ludlow last winter.
The experienced 11-year-old veteran is 6lb higher than his previous win, but was able to finish a good second to East India Express from a 2lb lower mark with Ben Jones in the saddle in his penultimate outing at Cheltenham, outrunning odds of 25/126.00 to make the frame in a performance that could be upgraded, and looks well treated at the weights.
At Prestbury Park when last seen, Whatsupwithyou was sent off at huge odds of 33/134.00, eventually pulled up after making an error which resulted in his rider losing his irons. He was travelling fairly well during the race at the time, and may have been capable of posing some threat had things panned out more favourably.
It was a run worth forgiving and he could take a step forward from that race here in his second start of his current campaign. He's a likeable performer who warrants consideration and has proven his credentials from a similar rating in the past.
Whatsupwithyou is one to note in this field and could land a fifth career success in his 36th racecourse appearance.

Newcastle, 17:15 - Back King's Lynn E/W @ 15/28.50
Eight-year-old gelding King's Lynn has been a likeable performer over the years for Andrew Balding, and has proven to still possess plenty of ability despite being past his peak. The son of Cable Bay showed plenty of talent as a youngster, and has achieved three Stakes level successes during his career to date.
In his 54th start here, he should put in a bold bid under Callum Hutchinson and has previously run well over this course-and-distance. In August, King's Lynn was narrowly denied by subsequent winner Golden Mind in the Racing League. He was able to outrun his odds of 18/119.00 that day from a 2lb higher mark under Nicola Currie, and, in calmer waters from a lower rating, should be able to make his presence felt.
In July, King's Lynn won at Haydock from his current mark of 86, prevailing by half-a-length over Bobby Bennu in a higher class handicap. He went on to finish a creditable third at Chepstow and was fifth in a tricky 19-runner handicap at York in his penultimate start, and, in calmer waters here, can put in a good effort as he bids for a sixth career win.

Newcastle, 18:15 - Back Pit Boss @ 3/14.00
Three-year-old gelding Pit Boss remains a maiden following 13 runs but has shown enough ability to suggest a win isn't too far away and was unlucky not to get off the mark over this course-and-distance earlier this month.
Pit Boss was narrowly beaten by Eden Storm that day, stepping up in trip having been seen finishing strongly over 6f previously. He got going late on, finishing with a flourish at odds of 7/18.00 to be just beaten by the eventual winner, and, from an unchanged mark of 56, should go close once again.
Things haven't quite fallen right for the Liam Bailey-trained contender as of yet, but he's 15lb lower rated than his opening mark of 71 and has amassed plenty of experience at this venue in recent months.
The son of Ardad, who was once purchased for 62,000gns and represented Amo Racing for George Boughey, remains capable of showing further improvement. This could be his time to finally strike in the hands of Jack Garritty, and he appears one to keep onside given his latest two promising efforts.
