Fairyhouse, 14:05 - Back Takenasred E/W @ 11/112.00

Eight-year-old gelding Takenasred is yet to get off the mark in nine starts, but has shaped with promise on occasion and could be well treated from a mark of 112 on handicap debut.

He finished second to subsequent Grade Two runner-up Blake, now rated 138, when outrunning odds of 33/134.00 in a maiden hurdle at Down Royal earlier in the season, before finishing a decent third to Upon Tweet at Ayr.

Far from disgraced in fourth to Barley Lane when last seen, he could find better luck down the handicap route and considering he has finished ahead of some useful types, including now 133-rated Road Exile, he may be able to progress beyond his current rating.

This is only his sixth start over hurdles and further improvement is possible. He is one to note under Sean Bowen for Stuart Crawford, and could finally shed his maiden tag.

Cork, 15:35 - Back West Is Awake E/W @ 15/28.50

Ten-year-old gelding West Is Awake put in a brilliant effort on his return to action at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day to finish second at odds of 33/134.00 after a 256-day absence. He's rated 3lb higher here without the 5lb claim of Carl Millar, but could take a step forward for his reappearance, capable of putting in another competitive effort.

Although he's 6lb higher than his previous win, he's 7lb lower than when second to Feet Of A Dancer, who has shown great progression since, now rated 31lb higher on a mark of 144.

Making appeal at the weights, the Edward Cawley-trained contender could be worth sticking with following a promising run.

Fairyhouse, 15:50 - Back Kingston Queen E/W @ 11/112.00

Kingston Queen couldn't sustain her finishing effort well enough to have an impact at the Cheltenham Festival when last seen, in the Grade Two novice event for the mares won by White Noise. She had previously beaten White Noise in more testing conditions over a longer trip at Warwick, and should appreciate this challenge in more desired ground over a few extra furlongs.

The Grade Two winner is entitled to take her chance at this level and could put in a bold bid for David Pipe. She was previously third to subsequent Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Old Park Star at Cheltenham in December, following on from a convincing win on hurdling debut over subsequent Grade Two winner Kripticjim, now rated 136, beating him by seven-lengths.

In bumpers, the daughter of Kingston Hill shaped with great promise, beating Charisma Cat to Listed honours at Market Rasen, before finishing third to Sea Linn in a Grade Two event at Aintree, having previously been only narrowly denied by Baron Noir, too.

A top class performer on her day, she may be overlooked in this field and warrants each-way consideration under Jack Tudor with substance to her form.

Fairyhouse, 15:50 - Back Amen Kate E/W @ 28/129.00

Amen Kate is another to consider at a big price in this Grade One contest. She must find improvement but has shown glimpses of great ability, including when beating Carrigmoornaspruce in a Listowel bumper on debut.

Her run at Cheltenham when last seen is worth forgiving considering things didn't pan out favourably for her, and Jack Kennedy, who partnered her to a Listed victory in her penultimate start, retains the partnership.

The step up in trip could see her to better effect and she is far from a forlorn hope if able to show the best of her ability.

Plumpton, 16:05 - Back Intellotto E/W @ 100/1101.00

Outsider of the field Intellotto has dropped to a mark of 132 and has 5lb claimer Robbie David aboard, putting him in with an each-way chance at a price at the weights if returning to form. He did run well for a long way at Cheltenham when last seen, as he had in the Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton in his previous outing, too, but has been unable to see out his races well enough to have any impact.

It could be worth keeping the faith in the flashy chestnut, however, as he has shown to possess ability in the past. He finished third at Grade Three level over fences last summer, having previously recorded a 10-length success on chase debut in May, showing some talent on the Flat and over hurdles prior to going chasing, too.

Fairyhouse, 17:00 - Back Kala Conti E/W @ 11/112.00

Six-year-old mare Kala Conti faces a stiff task against the boys in this Grade One, and further improvement is required, however, she beat subsequent Arkle winner Kargese by 16-lengths in a Grade Two in her penultimate start, before performing with some credit behind Sixmilebridge at the top level when last seen, therefore cannot be discounted for Gordon Elliott.

A likeable mare, Kala Conti has often run well at Graded level in the past. Over hurdles, she beat Kargese to Grade Two glory earlier in her career, before finishing fifth at Grade One level to the same rival. She achieved a second-placed finish on two occasions last season, too, to Anzadam and July Flower respectively, before going chasing earlier this term, making a winning start at Cork.

Still capable of further progression, she's entitled to take another step forward having gained valuable experience and could make her presence felt under Keith Donoghue.
