Bet of the day: Prix Marcel Boussac, Longchamp, 12:31 - Back Green Empress @ 2/13.00

In the Prix Marcel Boussac, the opening Group One on Sunday's card at ParisLongchamp, Green Empress makes the most appeal as she bids to return to the winners' enclosure for Joseph O'Brien.

The only rival to have beaten her so far during her career is the magnificent Sun Goddess, whom she finished three-quarters-of-a-length behind in a Curragh Group Two in June, as well as being beaten by the same rival on debut and in her latest outing at Group One level.

The daughter of Saxon Warrior has shown she possesses plenty of ability and, without Sun Goddess in this contest, could claim Group One honours of her own. This is only her fifth career start and she's entitled to continue progressing, having already shown class.

Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere, Longchamp, 13:09 - Back Imperial Strike E/W @ 8/19.00

Representing Andre and Lavina Fabre training partnership, Imperial Strike could strike under James Doyle for Ace Stud. He was only narrowly denied when shaping with great promise in second to Avec Toi in a Group Two here last month, in his first appearance at Stakes level, almost overturning the short-priced favourite, and could take a step forward for the experience.

A talented colt, the son of Lucky Vega remains unexposed and may have further improvement to come. He showed a good attitude as well as talent in his latest start and warrants each-way consideration for an in-form operation.

Curragh, 14:30 - Back King Cuan @ 7/42.75

Fourth to subsequent Group One winner Mission Central when last seen in Listed company at Naas, King Cuan is a talented performer on his day and should be able to make his presence felt in this field. He hasn't had the most straightforward career so far but has shown great ability on his day for Paddy Twomey.

This could be a nice opportunity for him to return to the winners' enclosure by landing a fifth career win. He's still seeking a first Stakes-level success following some near misses, including when narrowly denied by Art Power in a Group Three here a year ago, but has enough ability to be winning at this level.

Notable winners from Katie in recent weeks

Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Longchamp, 15:05 - Back Diamond Necklace E/W @ 14/115.00

In the feature race on Sunday, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, a case can be made for a number of runners including last year's first and second, defending champion Daryz and Minnie Hauk. Kalpana comes into the race following a couple of top level wins, and Maltese Cross is a progressive colt who has an attractive profile for William Haggas. Oaks winner Thundering On is an interesting contender if at her best, whilst a host of others could play their part should they enjoy a favourable trip on the day.

A couple to consider at bigger prices are the two drawn widest of all. Diamond Necklace will have to come from stall 16 to win for Aidan O'Brien which makes her task even more difficult, however, she is partnered by a top class jockey in Christophe Soumillon who could be able to guide her into a favourable position in the opening stages.

The daughter of St Mark's Basilica has been beaten only once in her career when not quite at her best in her latest start in Deauville, beaten two-lengths by Aventure. An unblemished record previously included four successive Group One wins, with two of her top victories coming at this venue. She landed the Prix Marcel Boussac here as a juvenile twelve months ago before winning the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches by three-lengths on reappearance as a three-year-old.

Out of 1m3f Listed Longchamp winner Prudenzia, who has produced a number of black-type achievers including stayers, there's plenty to like about Diamond Necklace who is unexposed in this company over the trip coming into the race, but has course experience as well as a likeable profile and plenty of class.

Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Longchamp, 15:05 - Back Bay City Roller E/W @ 33/134.00

Bay City Roller is another to note at a price. He must also overcome a wide draw but chased home Daryz on trials weekend and had previously landed the Coronation Cup in hugely impressive fashion by 10-lengths over Jan Brueghel, who subsequently caught the eye at the Irish Champions Festival, in a field that also included Calandagan.

The New Bay colt has been progressive well during his career and could be peaking at the right time this season for George Scott. He has plenty of noteworthy form against tough opposition and isn't without an each-way chance at huge odds, particularly considering he is a dual Group One winner whose limitations may not be fully exposed.

Curragh, 15:40 - Back Greydreambeliever E/W @ 14/115.00

Greydreambeliever could claim black-type in this Listed contest, making appeal under Declan McDonogh for Joseph O'Brien. She has gained plenty of valuable experience during her career to date and could still be on an upward trajectory on the back of a seven-length demolition at Gowran Park.

Although she hasn't quite fired in Stakes company previously, she shouldn't be discounted, capable of making the frame if at her best. It may be worth sticking with the four-year-old daughter of Dark Angel, who represents a top yard.

Prix de l'Opera, Longchamp, 15:50 - Back Precise @ 11/43.75

Likeable filly Precise achieved Classic success in the Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh earlier this season, bouncing back from a disappointing showing on her return at Newmarket, before going on to land the Group One Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. She hasn't won since then but has performed well in defeat on most occasions, finishing second twice to Blue Bolt at the top level before being narrowly denied by Rayif and Zeus Olympios in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville.

In her latest run at the Irish Champions Festival, Precise wasn't at her best when fifth of nine runners, failing to give her true showing, but that was only the second time she has finished out of the top two against her own sex, and it could be a run worth forgiving. Although she has a busy season to date, she could have one final big performance in her and may make it third time lucky in France for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore.

Killarney, 15:55 - Back Stoneyford Lady E/W @ SP

Henry de Bromhead won this race twelve months ago with Zurich and the Knockeen yard could strike again this time around with Stoneyford Lady.

The seven-year-old mare could be well treated from a mark of 100 and is one to note under Darragh O'Keeffe. She's a half-sister to Captain Guinness and could be capable of showing further improvement over fences, having already won once over the larger obstacles from a 3lb lower mark.

Travelling well enough before coming down at Ballinrobe when last seen, she had previously finished fourth of 20 runners at Galway, following on from creditable efforts at Roscommon and particularly at Wexford during the summer. There has been plenty to like about her as a chaser to date and she could resume her progression in this 2m1f handicap.

Curragh, 16:15 - Back Go Athletico E/W @ SP

Course-and-distance winner Go Athletico has dropped to a mark of 73 following a few below par efforts. He's currently 13lb below his last winning mark and 4lb lower than when a close second to Eddie G at Galway during the summer.

From a workable mark under Ronan Whelan, the experienced eight-year-old, who makes his 60th career start, could return to form in familiar surroundings for Ado McGuinness. He has been able to compete at a higher level in the past and could make his presence felt in this field if things pan out favourably for him.

Prix de la Foret, Longchamp, 16:25 - Back Thesecretadversary @ 2/13.00

Fozzy Stack-trained Thesecretadversary is back over 7f in this contest which should suit following a three-length defeat to Rayif when last seen in Deauville. Christophe Soumillon retains the ride aboard the Group One winner, who has been mostly consistent during his career to date.

A likeable colt, the son of St Mark's Basilica appears perfectly suited by this trip and has already proven himself internationally with a top level Deauville win over Classic winner True Love in his penultimate stat. He should be capable of putting in a bold bid in his 12th career start, and there could still be further improvement to come from him.
