Saturday Horse Racing Tips and Insight
Rockonliam is really on the progressive path, winning his last three starts, with the last two both over fences, and he looks one to follow at the moment.
He made a seamless transition to hurdles at Wexford in June, well on top in a race which was dominated by chasing debutants, and he proved his versatility trip wise when following up at the same course over three miles and a furlong in August.
That was a clear career-best effort in a race which produced a good timefigure, and once more he impressed with how fluently he travelled and jumped under a patient ride. Henry de Bromhead and this rider won this race 12 months ago and a revised mark of 129 still looks very workable.

We're just a week away from the Breeders' Cup and, with Aidan O'Brien looking to assemble a strong team for an assault on that meeting, he can limber up with yet another win in the Group 1 Futurity at Doncaster.
The master of Ballydoyle has won the race a record 12 times and I'm confident he can make it 13 with the hugely exciting son of Frankel, Noble Exhibit, who rates the day's best bet by some distance.
The selection was only third on his debut at the Curragh in August, but showed the benefit of a relatively quiet introduction in that race when bolting up to break his maiden by seven lengths at Punchestown on his next start.
Noble Exhibit then built on that promise when winning the Beresford Stakes back at the Curragh last time, doing well considering he was still exhibiting greenness.
He can only get better with experience and that race has been a proven stepping stone to this contest in recent years.

On The River performed well at Haydock when last seen to finish a two-length second to Viper at odds of 16/117.00 in a heavy ground mile handicap he had won two years prior.
From an unchanged mark of 78, he warrants each-way consideration as a horse with proven form in conditions on a workable rating.
A likeable performer on his day with plenty of experience in his favour, the Harriet Bethell-trained contender makes each-way appeal under Sean D Bowen.

With an official rating of 147, Lord Byron sets what looks like a clear standard in this four-year-old conditions hurdle, but it could be that he's rather flattered by the mark, while he also looks vulnerable to some less exposed types.
Lord Byron's current Timeform rating of 134 is probably much more reflective of where his true ability lies and that gives him little in hand of a few of these.
My fancy is Indian River, who rattled off a hat-trick of success to start his hurdling career before finding the Triumph a bit of a bridge too far at the Festival.
He quickly put that behind him with a good third at Aintree on his next outing and shaped as if his reappearance run was very much needed in a strong handicap at Market Rasen last month.
That should have put him spot on for this and Adrain Keatley's charge is taken to get back on the up.

Equipped with a first-time hood on handicap debut, Charlie Appleby-trained Castlemont could relish these softer conditions and may be well treated from an opening mark of 98 in this sphere. He was sent off at odds of 9/43.25 against stablemate Fortitudine when failing to run his race in Listed company at Newmarket when last seen, but that run is worth forgiving and, with the hood applied, he may settle better this time around.
Unbeaten in two starts prior to his latest outing, the three-year-old son of New Bay is out of a notable stallion of soft ground performers and is a half-brother to Group One winner Bay Bridge, who showed form in softer conditions.
Completely unexposed and potentially a Group performer in a handicap, Castlemont may be worth keeping the faith in for an in-form yard under William Buick and remains an exciting prospect.

Henry de Bromhead-trainer Butch Cassidy is a lively contender in the penultimate race on the card, a 3m1f novices' chase. He has been shaping with potential over fences in recent starts, recording successive wins by a combined distance of 21-lengths in his latest two runs.
A winner of a bumper and maiden hurdle earlier in his career, the son of Walk In The Park appeared the type to improve for the introduction to a fence and this test should be to his liking.
The promising young chaser, who fetched €140,000 as a three-year-old, is representing an in-form yard and holds solid claims.
