14:05 Wolverhampton - Back Badri E/W @ 14/115.00

Cheltenham may be rapidly approaching but we get a reminder on Saturday that new flat turf season is also on the horizon with ITV showing three cracking all-weather races from Wolverhampton.

The progressive Kullazain looks sure to be popular in the opening 6f handicap and his draw in stall 2 is certainly no disadvantage, but his price looks tight enough considering plenty needs to go right in this sort of contest.

I'm siding with the old stager Badri, who's on a very good mark nowadays based on the pick of his form and who has performed pretty well for the Michael Herrington stable this winter.

The selection is back down to 90, which was the rating he won off at Windsor last summer, and he'll appreciate stepping back up to 6f having got going too late over the minimum trip at Newcastle last time.

14:42 Wolverhampton - Back Kingdom Come @ 7/18.00

The Lincoln Trial looks a belter but the one thing that stands out is that several of the fancied runners have got poor draws to overcome, including the two market leaders La Botte and Regal Ulixes, who are drawn 10 and 12 respectively.

With a relatively short run to the first turn I'm not certain I want to be either of these at the current prices as they'll both likely need some luck.

One who has fared much better with the draw is the in-form Kingdome Come, who is well berthed in stall three under Rossa Ryan.

Clive Cox's charge was right back on song when winning over 7f at Kempton last time and he'll have no issues stepping back up in trip, while a 3lb rise for that success still leaves him looking fairly treated on the pick of his form from last season.

15:15 Wolverhampton - Back Prince Of India @ 13/27.50

If Cool Hoof Luke retains the sort of ability that saw him win the Gimcrack as a juvenile then he'll probably win this 7f listed contest, but plenty of water has passed under the bridge since then and I'm not absolutely convinced I want to be with him at around 2/13.00.

He did shape as if retaining plenty of ability when third on his comeback having missed 526 days but plenty still has to be taken on trust.

I prefer the claims of Prince Of India, who was most progressive in handicaps for Marco Botti last season and who didn't look out of place when tackling Group 3 company on his final start at Ascot in October.

He was sent of a well-fancied 11/43.75 shot that day and was travelling well enough before meeting some race-ending trouble. I'm convinced he'll make his mark at this sort of level in 2026 and could well go on to be even better than listed class.

Mark's Saturday Racing Multi

Kingdom Come (14:42 Wolves) & Prince Of India (15:15 Wolves) E/W double

Betfair's Bet £10 Get £10 on Racing Multis continues this weekend ahead of the Cheltenham Festival and an each-way double on a couple of the selections from the main column makes plenty of appeal.

I've already made the cases for both Kingdom Come and Prince Of India, and there's little downside on combining this pair to make for a nice return if the both of them at least make the places. The win double pays out at 59/160.00, but there's no harm in backing them in an each-way double at their prices.

  • Back Kingdom Come to Win
  • Back Prince of India to Win
