The Caltonian has shown much improved form since being fitted with blinkers and switched to the all-weather, landing a gamble in the style of a horse well ahead of his mark over seven furlongs at Newcastle, making rapid headway around two furlongs out and quickening clear in style.
He followed up with plenty in hand turned out under a penalty over this course and distance on Monday, tanking through the race and again displaying a sharp turn of foot to easily settle matters.
The Caltonian is again turned out quickly under a double penalty, but that won't be enough to stop him completing a hat-trick if in the same form.

Tiptoe is a half-sister to numerous winners, notably very smart Military Law, and she very much caught the eye on her debut over a mile at Kempton earlier this month.
She represents a yard whose juveniles invariably come on for their initial experience, and she raced wide and from off the pace, still having plenty to do entering the straight as a result.
Tiptoe stayed on well in the closing stages without being knocked about, though, and she looks a sure fire improver now, while this longer trip will also be in her favour.
