The Timeform UK SmartPlays team offer three selections from this evening's all-weather card at Kempton
Foot Tapper can get backers off to a good start in an open-looking 17:55 contest. Seemingly unsuited by soft ground when disappointing on his seasonal reappearance/handicap debut in April, the son of Invincible Spirit produced his best career display switched to the all-weather when narrowly denied over seven furlongs at Lingfield a month later. Still unexposed, there is every chance the step up to a mile will see him improve again and he looks a decent price given the relative lack of scope possessed by his rivals in the field.
In the next race on the card If I Were A Boy makes plenty of appeal at the prices in the 18:25 handicap. Beaten only by a pair of well-treated rivals over a mile and five furlongs at the track last month, this front-running mare nevertheless shaped as if coming back to something like her best that day. She could prove hard to peg back off a career-low mark tonight if afforded too much respect up front, and is fancied to make such an advantage count given the opportunity.
Finally, Sir Maximilian can carry Sir Robert Ogden's famous silks to victory in the 20:25. Gelded following a Doncaster maiden success over five furlongs in June, the form of that race has worked out well since (third and sixth have both won) and he makes plenty of appeal ahead of his handicap/polytrack debut tonight. The booking of Fallon and the step up to six furlongs are both positives, and he rates a decent proposition to get his head in front for a second time.
