All Ways Glamourous ran a fine race at Ascot earlier in the season in May, and since then, his trainer has fired in a steady stream of winners with 12 scorers from 50 runners at 24%. A trainer of sprinters par excellence.

Now, we have to deal with the situation of not having the ever reliable Gina Mangan in the saddle, and we've swapped her for Shergar Cup rider Marie Velon. The tactics are usually pretty simple with a Mason sprinter - go forward and go fast.

He put right a poor Windsor run by winning easily at Ffos Las and scored again last time out at Ascot; and that was very much a personal best from 92, excelling once more on fast ground.

Mangan produced a perfectly timed run, always handy from a race finish speed of 101% and even had the luxury to drift away to the far side. Beating the 100-rated Getreadytorumble into second is good form for this sort of level and hopefully Velon can keep the Mason sprinting wagon rolling.

He has a great chance.

Saffie Osborne was the star of the much-missed Racing League, and as one of the captains he can star for this column with Red Spells Danger - another sprinter with quick ground form.

He's proved to be very consistent this season too and the drop from 7f from his first two starts saw him win a Maiden at Ripon in May and then marmalise a field in a Hamilton handicap, trouncing them by 4L. His stablemate Go Vince Go rated 85 was a mile back in third.

At Hamilton with the stiff finish they went a fast pace which suited a horse very much with 7f form and ability.

That bodes well for stiff Ascot and even his second off 89 at York ranks as a serious piece of form, as he found the track a little sharp early on - backed up by the clock with a 2f time at 10.94 compared to the winner's early 10.70 seconds.

His finishing furlong off that strong pace, however, was a good one and the best in the field - running 0.04 seconds faster than the winner. With excellent handicap form and Osborne to pilot, conditions and track nature are in his favour.
