Fairyhouse, 15:15 - 'Horse In Focus' Harbour Highway did well to win last time

Harbour Highway hadn't made an impression on his first few starts over fences but he showed much-improved form when successful at Leopardstown last month, justifying good support in the process.

He had to work hard to score by half a length from Lisleigh Lad, who reopposes here, but he deserves credit for getting up close home considering he conceded first run to the second in a race run at just a steady tempo.

Harbour Highway's strength in the finish impressed Timeform's reporter who awarded the Horse In Focus Flag, marking him out as one likely to be of firm interest next time, and he still has the Timeform 'small p' to highlight he's likely to improve further.

Cork, 16:02 - Top-rated Bucanero Fuerte the one to beat

Bucanero Fuerte is a smart sprinter and tops Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings for the listed Cork Stakes by 4 lb from King Cuan, who is 6 lb clear of the next few in the pecking order.

Bucanero Fuerte produced his best effort last season when winning the Group 3 Phoenix Sprint Stakes over six furlongs at the Curragh, running to a similar level as when successful in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes over the same course and distance as a juvenile a couple of years earlier.

That sort of form marks Bucanero Fuerte out as the one to beat and he's likely to be ready to do himself justice on his return as he made a winning debut in 2023 and has also won on his reappearance in the past couple of seasons. 

Haydock, 16:30 - 'Horse In Focus' Brookside La can build on promise

Brookside La improved on his efforts in novice company to make a successful handicap debut at Wetherby on Boxing Day and he then showed even better form in defeat when third in a competitive, big-field handicap at Haydock last time. 

Brookside La just lacked the speed required in the finish, but he shaped well enough to earn the Horse In Focus Flag, and the form of that race has worked out well with the winner scoring again subsequently and the runner-up producing a couple of creditable placed efforts.

Timeform's reporter noted that Brookside La is 'open to further improvement, particularly as his stamina is drawn out further', so the step up to three miles could bring about a bigger effort from the only runner in this line-up with the Timeform 'small p'.
