Bobba Tee - 16:00 Newcastle
Bobba Tee wasn't seen to best effect at Wolverhampton last time, the shorter trip not really to his liking, but he caught the eye when rattling home at the same venue previously, and that could be the run to concentrate on. Over the longer trip, he did well under the circumstances, slowly away and meeting trouble in running, but finishing well behind one who had the run of the race. This trip doesn't necessarily look his optimum, but the longer straight at Newcastle could bring his stamina into play, and he looks to be on a feasible mark.
Black Star Dancing - 16:35 Newcastle
Black Star Dancing was given a chance by the handicapper at Ayr last time and he duly bounced back to form, keeping on well for third. That form has since worked out well, the runner-up winning next time out and the winner also improving. This step back up in trip should suit Black Star Dancing and he is taken to belatedly open his account.
Light Refrain - 18:10 Newcastle
Light Refrain is bred to be useful - a Frankel filly whose dam, as well as being a winner herself, is also a sister to the useful Sea Shanty - and she has duly shown plenty of ability on her three outings to date, improving with each run. She was ridden to make the most of her experience at Salisbury last time, in one of the most valuable maidens in the calendar, and was only denied by a very promising newcomer. That form is sure to work out well, and she looks capable of going one better herself here.
