The Lovely Man is chasing a hat-trick, following a hurdle and chasing success on deep ground. The Gavin Cromwell-trained gelding is 10lb higher for that chase win, but is clearly progressive, and has scope to rank high at staying distances. The extra journey could see him prove that, in what promises to be an end-to-end gallop.
Magic Gloves appears capable of reaching the placings, after a solid course and distance fourth in December. That came on handicap debut, indicating he may improve next time out, especially with a first-time tongue tie applied here. Alan Doyle claims a handy 3lb.
Free Pic is a coure and distance winner, who is likely to make a bold bid. The Joel Parkinson and Sue Smith yard have been in excellent form this season over the jump and have a rare flat runner here. The Free Eagle mare was a convincing scorer here, prior to a fair fourth at Southwell recently. The switch back to this venue should see her go extremely close.
Digital was a shade unfortunate, when fifth over course and distance time. The Kodi Bear gelding was caught behind horses at a crucial moment, which meant he couldn't be ridden into the places. The dual course winner ought to be able to reach the first three with a clear run this time around. Taryn Langley claims a handy 5lb.
